Hey, I have got a new flip key for my car, i have sucessfully swapped the transponder over and the key works fine in the locks and ignition. The problem i am having is programming the key for remote central locking. My original key was 433mhz and the new one is 433mhz. I have looked through previous threads but carnt find a deffinative answer. Can anyone help me out? My car is a 04 Leon Cupra.

Thanks

like you said there are loads of threads on this, programming etc but im struggling to find one thats worked for them all and is a deffinate answer. i was under the impression the a 433 will work with 434 and vice versa? I just thought 433 and 433 would be fine?

Done a search on this myself yesterday.

433 or 434 it doesn't make a difference apparently.

You got VAG-COM cammage or can you get someone with it?

There is a big thread on mk3 Ibiza section about this.

The only instructions i can find in my owners manual is to pay the dealers a visit! Is this wat you mean? Can anyone else shed any light onto my problem? Do i have to erase my key then try programme it? i got some instructions on how to do this with the key....?

You can use VAG-COM to programme the remote.

Do you have a Siemens fob or Hella fob?

Think if you have a Siemens one then it won't work with the unit in the car.

I have done this before but cant quite remember exactly how i did it, you have to put 1 of the keys in the ignition and turn it on so dash is lit up (i think the 1 which you are programming) then lock the doors with the original key either by the button or by turning the key in the door and hold it or keep it pressed for around 3 seconds (i just kept messing until i got the right combination but make sure you can still get in your car using a key) if i remember correctly it beeps when it is done

Yeah heard of this method before but I and many others have de-locked our cars so we are unable to do it this way. VAG-COM is the only way for us.
