with all the toss weather we've been having recently i've encountered a wierd problem with my car steaming up horrendously1 the only way i can clear it is by flicking the air con on the windscreen for 5 mins, but the problem is that i'm bloody freezing my nuts off!
This hasn't happened before, but it's really annoying, have cleaned all my windows and drove with the window down, but the entire car really badly steams (which looks really dodgy when the gf is in the car lol)

anyone else found this?

at least my headlights don't steam up yet ;)

first thing is to check that you don't have the recirc button on all the time on the climate

second thing is to check for wet carpet in the rear

I do hope it's the first one :(

i've checked and i can't see anything wrong at all, the entire car is bone dry and the windows are all properly sealed, i attacked it with a hosepipe last night and nothing leaked so i'm confoosed!

i had the recirc button on for a bit and turned it off, that lead to more problems lol, it's been mashing it down on my drive to work this morning and had no problems...wierd!

probably a leak somewhere.

One thing to do is try and dry the car out. You could leave it running for say 30 minutes on the drive with the aircon set to hot and recirc. This effectively takes all the moisture out of the car and you should see a nice puddle of water under the car where the moisture comes out. Acts as a big dehumidifier. But when back in the car ensure its back on external air supply.

if its really bad and dripping then i'd suggest it has a leak or damp getting in somewhere usually the pollen filter loose is favourite

if it's not that bad try cleaning all your windows and then seeing how you go

after about a month of wet/dry etc you'd be surprised the difference it makes cleaning em up

I have had the same problem but only when it was frosty/freezing out side. I'm sure its just the pollen filter as johnbev said so I'll be changing mine next month.
