I have my eye on some FK Silverlines for £416 delivered. They are the cheapest half-decent ones I can find.

yeh I want them too^^^ so expensive apparently you have to get the traking done so after buying the coilovers and then paying to get them fitted and the tracking its gonna be pricey!

I think I can just about fit them myself. How much is wheel alignment roughly? :(

FKs have got to be better than the Cupra std suspension, I don't really want it much harsher as my car is already being shaken to bits! Just a little lower.

AMD Technic charge £200 all in, fitting and tracking I think, so budget for around £600 - £800 depending on coilovers purchased.

my fks i bought about a year ago were second hand off "sisson" (fellow scn'er) and theyve been fitted for a year and have had NO problem AT all love the handling and unlike the spax coilovers i bought for my mk2 golf they cleaned up like BRAND NEW! normally the paint falls off and goes rusty! but the fks have ticked all my boxes and i will buy some for my golf soon :)

kriso you may feel capable of fitting them but you do need a driveshaft multispline tool ;)

a what now? :p

I've been reading muddyboot's guide and it looks do-able. I just can't really justify spending more money on fitting on top of the things themselves. I have to do my brakes very soon (probably next week) so I think coilovers might be put back on the wish-list anyhow.

i think they mean a steering knuckle spreader tool where the shock sits in the knuckle you can seperate the gap a lil bit to slip the shock out easier but a good ol club hammer does the same or a flaat head screwdriver and a good ol bitta LUBE ;) :D
