Candy white + BT.

Ordered 25th October. Seat have aknowledged a cockup. Supposedly my order was place the day after the changes came into effect.

Been offered a K1 body kit which from the pics does look nice. I'm not a huge fan of the Leon body kits but in white it looks canny.

If you like the K1 body kit then maybe it's worth going for, but bear in mind the additional insurance hassle and cost, plus it may impact resale value as many people on here aren't keen on the body kits.

Did they offer to reduce the price of the car to the new RRP (without Xenons) as well?

Mine was ordered 15-10-07 and didn't have Xenons, so the changes didn't come into effect the day before you placed your order.

You need to decide whether you'd be happy with the bodykit instead of Xenons.
I wasn't, so I'm getting a new car.

If you really want the car without Xenons and would be happy with the K1 bodykit thats up to you! IMHO the centre zorst looks rancid , maybe look in to getting the 2 zorst rear bumper instead ? looks better IMHO

it sounds to me as though non uk spec rhd cupras (which have always come without xenons) are being introduced to the uk before the changes were due to be introduced.

if you cancel you will loose your deposit (i am assuming you paid one), so dont do anything rash just yet. if you stick to your guns and demand one, at the price you agreed, then you should get one if your prepared to wait.

iwould wait as i wouldnt do without xenons.

(i still intend going in to pattersons/arnold clarks tomorrow, probably a.m.)

You want my honest opinion? I've had an FR with xenons and now I currently have one without. The biggest thing I miss? The autolights. Other than that, nothing at all. I know people love Xenon's, but honestly, It's not EVERYTHING. It's something that's barely noticeable, whilst you're driving. If anything, ask them to give you the leather seats for the Cupra. That's what I would do, anyway. With and without xenons, I don't find a huge difference that would make me sell my car in order to get them or even pay out to get HID's. It really is up to you, though.

You could always try for side skirts, mats, full tank and 3 years free parts and labour servicing? That would amount to the xenon price and give you trouble free motoring for 3years as it would all be covered by warranty and free servicing.

Blue vision bulbs in the standard lights will make them better and whiter. It will be summer soon. Do you drive alot in unlit areas at night?

If you like the K1 kit then go for it though. People like it , people don't....but its your car at the end of the day.

Did you see this....... http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=154002

Well the insurance is just silly so that's out out of the window.

Seat have agreed to make one to the original spec with no price change. Gotta wait another 3 months though.

However I've waited 3 months and I suppose I can wait another 3.

Waited over 4 months for mine (though i did get to play in one of SEAT's in between ;) ), if you really really want something it's worth waiting for the right car. The car is worth waiting for, and it makes it all the more exciting when it eventually turns up.

I actually see the wait as a positive, because you might walk into a Vauxhall dealer or Ford and pick up the competition in only a couple of weeks. However to me that just tells me they will common as muck. The Cupra's are quite limited builds at the factory, hence the long waiting times, but you know they are not going to be around every corner.

Glad it's sorted mate. Good outcome.

I do wonder if SEAT have made a mess up and accidentially built a batch without Xenons before the spec change came in...

Apparently there were 3 built wrong.

Thats what Seat said anyway.

My parents visited one of their friends today and mentioned my car, apparently my parents friends had either read it in the paper or on the internet that 25 have been built wrong!

I can appreciate that SEAT could have built the cars wrong but they should never be getting through to the customers. At least anthb's was spotted by the dealer, Rampage you actually took delivery of yours and noticed it yourself.

SEAT should be checking each and every car as it leaves the factory, there must be come quality control in place. Even if they 3 or 25 or whatever slipped through the net, the dealers should be aware and checking every Cupra that comes in, even if it isn't part of the PDI process.

Sounds like Seat are trying to get away with it.
They would have notified dealers otherwise wouldn't they?

Can we deal in facts because some of the assumptions being leveled here are a bit vague, a friend of a friend's sometime acquaintance who's dog said they built cars wrong but didn't know where they read it.

It's a bit vague, and potentially damaging.

Things do slip through the net sometimes, as long as they sort the problems out when they arise. Dealers place the orders, they can also make a mistake on the order too. The factory might follow the order, but if its come into them wrong then they are not to know are they?
