Few Questions from a Seat Noob

1. Is the gearbox on a GTI 8v supposed to feel like stirring rocks with a hockey stick?

2. Is the clutch supposed to be harder to keep pressed down than an embarrasing errection?

3. Is the 8v engine tuneable at all?

All these questions have already been answered probably but I can't be arsed looking.

You can always spot a Mk2 owner from miles away mate, his/her left leg will be twice the size of the right one.

just had my gearbox fully refurbed , my reverse gear had no teeth .

yes the clutch is a killer

i think the 8v engine does have some options

Am i the only person that doesn't suffer with hypertrophy of the left leg??? Don't have any isuues with mine,or is it cos my legs are stronger than all you girly boys and i'm not a geezerbird before you start........Letting myself in for all sorts here aren't i????

the best bit of an ibiza is the 27" throw on the gear lever!!! I racon most ibiza's could run 11 second quarters with the time between changes removed LOL!

1. the MK2's aren't know for there shifting prowess no, but a B&M short shift although no cheap (£130ish imported) quickens changes, planning on replacing the whole mechanism (incl B&M) when I get the lower drive put in mine, before anyone says it I know it'll be £££ but you change gear allot and to have a sweet shift adds to the driving pleasue no end!!

2. Yes, anyone who drives one comments on this, check your pedel box isn't split this makes it worse

3. of the 2 engines the 8V has more scope (and come with 10-15BHP over book for free) to tune head and cam etc can see 150+BHP with masses of tourqe!

I cry at most things (even the carphone warehouse ad where mowbli got dumped at xmas!)but not a bit of verbal from a bloke,when you have a tongue as vicious as mine can be you gotta be able to take it as well as give it!!!

its all dependant on the driver, i prefer a firmer clutch!

and Monkee I'm with you mate, borrow my old mans Mundano estate to move sh*t about from time to time and you can't even feel the clutch under your foot very off putting (to the point of stalling it at least twice everytime I borrow it)!

Lol, i only ever drive my old man's BMW on a motorway run. the clutch feels too spongy for it to feel right for city/town driving
