Sounds good, pretty sure mates have been to Hamsterley, supposed to be the dogs doo dars in't it ?

I hope you're out today, no slacking !

Had to do overtime at work...so no lol. I'm off tomorrow so will get out for a few hours ;)
Hamsterley is good and their are 2 new routes opened up now but the new black/red routes that opened up at Kielder last year are awesome!!

Viking: St John's Chapel? WTF you going there for, there's nowt there but.....sheep? ;)

Best i've seen on the clock for my Cupra is 60.8 MPG on a 35 mile run to work which happened in between Xmas & New Year when the roads were dead quiet and I cruised between 55-60 all the way with about 5 sets of traffic lights.

I'm happy to hit anything over 50mpg. I have noticed it sometimes seems more economic cruising at 70 mph than 60mph according to the live MPG display unless it gets it's self confused [B)]

Every single day the wind is the same direction and speed?
And i doubt wind makes that much of a difference because cars are tested for aerodynamics to prevent drag in wind.
The most common causes of poor MPG are:
Under inflated tyres
Cold weather
Heavy right foot
Poor use of gears
Hills
Mechanical fault
Poor fuel.
Hills and cold weather can't be helped, the rest is down to the driver.
The wind/weather conditions to make a big difference because you have to use more gas to maintain the same speed. On a very windy 200 mile trip i done i got 47mpg..wind was pushing the car all over the place, it was quite worrying indeed.

Wind/drag does make a massive difference, as does how long you are driving for after the car has warmed up etc.
I used to commute 52miles each way and was getting 58-60mpg, no problem.
Now I commute 30 miles each way and am getting more like 55mpg (although there are a lot of roadworks at the moment).
When I have the bike on a rack on the roof, I can get anywhere between 46 and 49mpg.
Last week I drove 50 odd miles in moving, but busy roads and was probably sat at around 60mph for most of my journey, rather than 70mph. My fuel consumption when I got home was 65.4mpg.

I'd expect out of the 100tdi at least 55mpg on a run and realistically nearer 60mpg.
