Custom Code

Hi All. I purchased a 2005 Seat Leon Cupra R just before Xmas and have been lurkng on here since. Yesterday I had a guy from Custom Code (Jason) come and do a phase 1 remap and it is fantastic! 5th gear now pulls like 3rd, with the power now all the way to 7000RPM. On my previous car, an Audi TT I had Revo and thought that was good until I sampled Custom Code. They are in another league. Also it was a bargain at approx £300.

Welcome
Glad you made the non REVO move, why did you choose CC over REVO?
What do you think of the LCR compared to the TT?
There is a long running thread about the comparisons between the two and it would be interesting to hear it from the horses mouth

I choose CC as they have such a good reputation on the forums and the price is a bargain. I have a revo dealer located one minute away but they are charging nearly double what CC charged! Another reason was that the Revo map was very aggressive and nothing over 5500RPM. Also it had a fault where you would upload the map with your SPS box and it would be great for a day and then you could feel the power back off. The only way to get the power back was to reload the map. I have since heard that they try to use too much ignition and the Engine was backing off to save itself.

Points I miss from my TT are: Traction! Traction! Traction! Heated seats, Bose and chocolate biscuits at the stealer!

Bits that are better on the Leon: Definately faster (No 4WD losses and slightly lighter), seats are much more comfortable and supportive, Less common, a bargain in comparision and better feedback from the handling.

im glad you are happy, however to clarify that the sps device for revo does not upload the map.
The map is uploaded to the ecu and the sps device allows you to adjust the boost and timing settings of the map. (this allows you to adjust to the fuel being used for example).
If you are uploading a revo map and its then holding back this is most likely do to the settings being too agressive as sometimes less is more. What settings were you using on the sps? other reasons are hot conditions which the 1.8t engine is known to be effected by.

however, it does sound like you ae enjoying your new CC map so thats great news :)

I had the basic SPS device which had 3 programs, normal, remaped for 95 fuel and remapped for 98 fuel. It was the remap for 98 fuel which I had a problem with. It is the later more expensive SPS boxes that you can change ignition and boost.

ok,
what fuel did you run?
it does sound like for whatever reason the ecu was pulling back due to the more aggressive settings on the 98 programme.

APR had a similiar system but via cruise rather than an sps..

I was going to have the Revo map but after what you have said i will go for the CC.

Plus i can have a new DV and still not spend the money i would of for the REVO.

the good thing about cc is that once youve had a few mods you can go phase 2 to really take advantage of them and you get a % dicount .

Just took a peak at the custom code remap prices & they start at £350 + vat for a standard LC 1.8 20v T.... so how did you manage to get it for around £300 ????

I'm liking the sound of CC more and more now. I think a mobile remap may be on the cards very soon :)

Although not sure which phase is best suited?

Have but not fitted: Forge 007p, Forge TIP.

Purchasing soon: Green Panel Filter (Cold Air Scoop - if it gets off the ground).

Considering: Full BF system

Not sure either if a 4 bar FPR is needed?.

Any recommendations?

Hey Sharpeyone, how have you found your fuel effeciency since the remap? And is the mpg reading given to you on the dashboard still acurate? Do you feel that its worth getting? Cheers:)
