carbon fibre bonnets

Would anyone be interested in bonnet lifters as i was thinking about having some made for mine you know the ones that fit ontop of the hinges...just allows the car to cool easier ill see if i can find some pics if anyone is interested i can start a new thread.

i have looked allover for a pic and i cannot find one...basicly igt raises the bonnrt where the hinge sits allows the heat to escape through the top of the bonnet at the back...looks fairly euro too. the only car i have seen these on is an Arosa.
ill keep looking!

same way as usual, they are only a set of spacers you put between the hinge and the bonnet. not my cup of tea to be honest.

Lots of the old escort’s have that done. A lad at work did it on his and his bonnet used to hit his bumper, lol! nice! He just had some box section between the bonnet and hinge.

could be a pain in the arse to be fair as loads of people pull up beeping saying the bonnet is open, the bonnet is open...haha!

couldnt do that to my LCR unless I had a black car... which I havent.

Think it looks totally wrong on a VAG... Hondas/Subs maybe, but a Cupra R???

i would be in for both of these if the price is right, bonnet and lifters, dont they keep the engine a bit cooler the lifters, allow more air to get in the engine bay, correct me if im wrong

You could get that carbon film put on your bonnet nick!!

Better and simpler option is to replace the rear rubber seal with low profile stuff, creates a gap and allows hot air to escape out the back of the engine bay.

i got if off some that was selling is car. ya the bonnet lifter.

the weave looks the same as mine but ant really got a good pic tho the best one 1 have is this

I can't see the attraction personally. To me it looks like the car has been in a shunt, and the only bonnet at the scrappy was black, so its on till you get to the body shop.... Sorry, but thats what i think.

bonnet lifters keep the engine a bit cooler , i have got to admit they do make the bonnet look a bit gay, but when your thinking of running 450bhp like i am in a month or two, a carbon bonnet to shed some weight and some bonnet lifters to help keep the engine that bit cooler are always good
