It dosnt have to show up a light, recommend you get it on vag.com and monitor the cyclinder misfire count

It has also been stuttering on start up a few times aswell just lately but again it didnt show any fault codes it just sounded like it was droping a cylinder on choke and then it would be fine

Yeh any loose hose espiclary of the intake can effect the idlleing and acceraltion.

It looks like it could be the cylinder preasure regulator valve hose thats popped off i had to change the v shaped breather pipe which runs off the right hand corner of the engine block(as u look at it) because it had a split when i took this off the hose was full of gunk and tar from the engine is it possible to clean out the regulator valve without harming it.Thanks for the diagram and the help

That there to reduce the gasses from the engine block, a good clean and re assemble do the job

Right then ive refitted the hose and reset the ecu and throtle body but the stutter still persists on cold start when the secondry air pump is going as soon as this cuts out its fine also when it stutters it sounds like the dv is dumping some preasure back into the intake system very strange im just waiting for my mate now so i can vagcom it

Ive managed to get some codes during vagcom logs they are as follows

16621 P0237 Turbo charger boost sensor (A) low input

16490 P0106 Manifold abs preasure range/performance

any one know which sensors these codes are caused by so i can get them orderd and fix my motor
thanks si

reset the codes and re check with vag-com, it could just be because of the reset they popped up.
check all plugs, plug gaps and coil packs. Even do a log to check the MAF as they create "chugging"
That breather pipe is prone to perish, id suggest a method like silicone hosing (i made a thread a while back on it) like ive done to stop it from happening again.

Do a 4th gear run in vagcom logging the MAF in particular to make sure that isnt the problem

Also you might want to check to make sure there isnt a problem with your secondary air pump as they can create a big gap between the housing as the rivets are only crappy tiny alu ones.

Just a few suggestions

Thanks mate some more ideas to have a play with the cars in my mates garage now and he's going to have a play with it when he reopens tomorrow. We did a few logs today but all that kept coming back was the two codes in my post ^up their and he noted that the pre cat lamba sensor was little slow to react and the maf was within tolerences. The only sensors we can think of as causing these two fault codes are the boost sensor in the intercooler pipe work and the manifold preasure sensor as the boost preasure has been a problem for a while. I managed to get a new breather pipe on friday but that poped off causing the cutting out problem thanks again si
