May sound like a stupid question but its pretty simple putting the Alana head unit back in if i replace it with another isnt it? When i come to sell the Ibiza ill most probably want to keep the upgraded head unit so ill need to refit the stock one...

Also which keys do i need to get the hu out?

they dont look like the correct keys! theres a thread in the faqs on fittin cd changer n head unit, it shows in there the keys you need, its a 2min job to swap headunits

you dont really need keys.. i just cut an old credit card sized card into strips to fit the holes and pushed them into the two slots. Little bit of pushin/fiddlin and it came out

puttin it back in is just a case of connecting the cables back up and pushing it in.

you can actualy buy keys for it seen a pack in maplins keys for any and all car stereos
probably about £15 mind

id jus go halfords n buy sum keys for like £3! most policys cove i.c.e up to a certain amount, so ull prob be fine with it!

I guess the next thing is to see which head unit to get, i really like the fusion one but the pioneer will probably match teh dash better and is a lot cheaper. WHich you guys think (or any others you suggest)? must be compatible with iPod/3.5mm Aux, radio, cd and all the other usual things. Around £150 and in keeping with dash if possible haha...

Yer cheers mate thats the type of thing. Just i am picky when it comes to looks haha, im teh type of person who would rather not have bluetooth and it look good than having it do everything. Guess thats why i like the fusion so much cause the display just looks brilliant

Nah i know what you mean i have just read reviews about the fusion since deciding i like it and they all seem to say its well priced and gives great sound and that the iPod interface is really good...

Sod the rest, if you want it to match the rest of the dash, then it has to be Becker.

Shame they're not cheap though.

The Becker units are the mutts nuts. The sound quality was unbelievable.

I had one in before i changed to my Alpine DVD player. Which lights up red like the dash.

about the keys i got mine free from my nearest vw garage a year or so ago.. i only ave one left so had to do a side at a time which is so much fun lol just put in a higher rated JL audio amp in as the other one used to cut out when i whent to shows lol
