Hi guys

I'm after a bit of advice.
I'v read lots about REVO & CUSTOM CODE maps but nothing about AMD maps has anyone got one on a LCR ?
If so are they any good i.e smoothness, power & reliabillity.

I'm thinking about getting it done for christmas so would be greatful for any replies.

Thanks
Darren :)

Take it you've done a search on this and brought up nothing
As you said not heard anything about their remaps but as they are a large established company I can't imagine you'd have any problems with them. I think people get stuck in the REVO/Custom Code/Jabba rut, it would be good to see the results from another mapper

If you speak to someone like Shaun at Big Boys Toys (Thurrock)...they are on this site too. They now do AMD remaps. They normally do Revo and with a standard lcr stage one gives you a lot of bang for your buck. But I would suggest these mods follow quickly: 1) Dog bone mount upgrade (£40 fitted) as stops some of the crazy wheel spin. 2) Forge or similar recirc diverter valve as the standard bosch one is plastic!
Then like me you can build up to stage two map with exhaust, FMIC etc etc.

Can't comment on AMD I'm afraid. Hope this helps.
Have fun.

Try a few trials if you can. There are plenty of different maps out there. Revo / Custom Code / Jabba / APR etc etc - see if anyone near you has already had it done and see if they will let you have a go. All the different maps offer different power outputs but all tend to have different driving characteristics, so the choice is yours.

i had the AMD map on my car for 2 days then got it refunded lol....it was quicker don't get me wrong, and it also had a very smooth power curve apposed to lots of low down power like i believe revo gives you.

The bit i didn't like, was when i raced my m8s lcr 210..i.e. the standard version of mine, we wer dead even all the way to 80mph...it was only after that, that it was as though he had slammed his brakes on, and i really left him standing...but how often do you go that fast when your having a "bit of fun". IMO i didn't think it was worth the £450.

They put the revo map on as well, afterwards so i could see the difference...but it must have been minute, as i didn't notice a difference at all (between revo and amd i mean).

The only thing that i can say, is that i did get them to fit the forge splitter dv, which after the map was removed, caused my car to go into limp mode...so it may have been because that dv was loosing me boost/not allowing the car to go as quick as it would with a recirc valve.

Revo is the way forward........

It's all about the low end punch! loadsa tourque!![B)]

I actually had my car specifically set up for low, mid power and its much better than the high end stuff imo.

Hows your traction then? wheelspin must be present?

mine is a smooth powerful Custom code remap, boost all the way to the redline and minimum traction loss!

Well, it does wheelspin in the wet beyond beleife but if it's dry then just roll the power on and all is well!

I found the powerflex dogbone mount made a huge difference, it no longer judders like a b*tch when you floor it:p

Hello D.K
Few days ago i did a dyno to my LCR 225hp chipped by upsolute.
My cars mods are silicone hose intake , free flow panel air filter from K&N and forge 006 divert valve.
As you can see in the plot something is wrong............. and i am still waiting an advice from upsolutes specialists. :wtf:
D.K i hope you will have better luck than i had with better results and less troubles [B)]

[If I was in your shoes I would get a 'P-Torque' remap, they are doing remaps for £225 all in at the moment.
/QUOTE]

I was thinking about this one but because of where they are located it would cost a furtune in petrol geting there and back.

I'm going to wait and see what FORGE says first but might have to wait till new year
