Test Drove a FR Tdi Today

Hey all,

I test drove one of these today and was v impressed on the whole. The only thing I didn't like was the wind noise around the wing mirrors that started at about 75mph.

Is this normal for the Ibiza's or did I just try a particularly bad one?

Cheers

I didn't test drive my first one, but test drove the TDi. Identical to yours actually BJM. Facelift model. Had a quick run through Uddingston main street, then back along the Edinburgh Road to the garage. Salesman told me to give it some gas, so I did! Gave me a shock, even though I'd tried an old Golf turbo diesel before.

Thanks for all the responses.... I don't think it was going to put me off as like someone said that's what the stereo is for:whistle:

Interesting that some get the noise and others don't....I'll check out the other thread on the subject so you lot can continue your petrol v's diesel debate;)

Hi BJM how did u get autowindows on ur car mate? did u nick the thing off a prefacelift ?

I used to have a pre-facelift FR 20VT mate and fitted the Autowindow Module with rain sensor on it. I took it off when I went to the sooty side:flamed: and had a go at re-fitting it into my facelift model.

It doesnt work right with the new convience module and I had to play around with it for a good while. I cant get the windows to go down but managed to get them goin up!

Not sure if swapping the convience module from a pre-facelift would help though. No point you doing it mate - you'll be upgrading to a Cupra in 3 weeks if your past is anything to go by!

Cheers

IN MY HONEST OPINION id go for grey as a black owner it is a pain to keep clean and when is clean shows up dust straight away and dents, scratches show up REALLY BAD stonechps show up like a sore thumb

grey looks amazing when clean is better forhiding dents scratches ect doesnt show dirt as bad and looks the nuts defo would be my choice in colour but as my cupra came up for 8.5k in black 14000miles on the clock nearly 2 years ago I HAD TO! black does look best when cleaned tho

Totally agree on the downsides of the Black, but I'd go for either if the car is right.

Posted this in the faq too: I've seen a good deal on a black one and the only downside looks like it doesn't have a leather/sporty steering wheel, just a plastic/rubber effort. Anyone know the likely cost and feasibility of getting a leather wheel and retro fitting it?
