Got mine from the same shop on ebay! I must say, what a fantastic service too!

I'll get them checked tomorrow, thanks for that advise! I'll let you know how i get on, and see if mines out the same as yours.

I'll do a search for your post about the criteria, take it with me then i know what i'm talking about when i go in!

Thanks for that edmong1981

guys, i have installed a set of these today and they seem to work fine except two things. firstly, when i first installed them my passenger sidelight bulb did not light up....this seems to have now rectified itself.

the second thing, which im more concerned about, when i first switch the H7's on the hids flash VERY brightly for a split second and then seem to settle. is this normal or should i be worried?

perfectly normal m8....mine go really bright..then really dim all in hundredths of a second, and then gradually get brighter as they warm up...they all do it, not probs there

phew thanks guys, was worried for a minute :)

the passenger side ballast i mounted by placing it on the nut that holds the plastic air feed pipe in place (the one that runs from the grill to the airbox. anyone else placed it there? im slightly worried about rain water running onto the ballast?

So more light, better visability due to better colour and a better spread of light then ?
If so I can feel my toolbox stirring in anticipation of an electrical installation.

i did the passenger side first and it took me a good hour and a half (had to charge the drill mind you), drivers side took approx 3 mins 27 secs. :) managed to sheer my multi screw driver head installing the drivers side ballast...i guess i dont know my own strength!

If you check out the HID FAQ sticky at the top of the Leon Mk1 forum there's loads of pic's in there with comparisons...

I've had mine in for the best part of a year now, and still makes me giggle at the yellow colour you get from normal bulbs.

You'll notice it most as you pull up to traffic lights & see the reflective strip round the traffic lights nearly white as apposed to the yellow tinge that Halogens give.

It's a fairly easy mod, and one of the best value for money that i've done.

Just remember to ge the alignment checked once installed, but most people have said they didn't need to change anything.

Fitted a set of these myself too from diane-shop. Brilliant!

Got them aligned today and they set up perfect, kick up and cut off etc.

Really impressed, one of the best mods to do especially for the price. Also fitted some of these for sidelights. Perfect match. :funk:

Do the deed mate - you'll wonder how you drove at night without them once fitted!!

I've got all of mine from www.mydepots.com, and the service has been great.

Others have got them from Dianes Shop on eBay (I think thats the name) for less money, but it seems that there have been a few more "glitches" with those kits (I may be wrong)...end of the day you pays ya money etc.

End of the day you pay £150+ if you buy them in the UK, so for ~£65 you can really complain...and you're only waiting maybe 7 days more to get them so just means you got time to get holes drilled in prep while you wait for the courier!

Wasn't trying to cast negativity about the ebay ones, just that i've had 5 sets from MYDEPOTS.

Only problem I had with one set was they sent the wrong bulb fitment, once I'd confirmed they were wrong they sent the correct ones, and told me to keep the ones sent in error...can't ask for more.

I've no personal experience with Daines shop, as most have had no trouble, just personal view...

Where ever you get them you'll love 'em!!

i just ordered some from the bay. :)

One tip id give that i did on my mates corsa is park your car dead on in front of a wall to your house and trade the outline of your lights on the wall.

I used the back of my garage as its darker and easier to see. I then fitted the new lights and checked to see if they pointed the right way. They were bang on the same so i left it and he passed his MOT fine. Its always good for a rule of thumb :)
