The real irony is that I approached Milltek about a full duplex system back in june at the inters, and they said that they'd be delighted to use my car as a tester, then never bothered to get back to me, despite several phone calls... They just didn't seem to want to know, so I went for the Supersprint, the Dp could fit ok as there's an adaptor to take the oem diameter up to 76mm, (the dia of the s/sprint pipe), so just remove it, should fit... Now to find the cash for it...

To be fair, I had to keep on Milltek like a fly on a **** to get this - it took a lot of effort and a lot of chasing on my part! However the lads there seem to be super helpful and I know they will do a good job :).

To be fair, I think Milltek were concentrating on other cars like the 335i, 335d, R8, S5, M3 etc. I guess selling systems to more expensive, upmrarket cars, in smaller volumes, is more important to Milltek than developing the Cupra system.

FYI, the downpipe has already been designed on an Edition 30 Golf. I believe the only bit to be different from the current Leon FR system is the back box. I will be asking them to make it exactly like the original, so don't worry! I think production of the system follows some time after the incarnation of the design. You still cannot buy a 3" downpipe from Milltek ;)

Jetex were totally different in their handling of getting a car for 2 days to do their system. They really could not do enough to get a car across to Sweden. I really do recommend that if anyone fancies a trip to Sweden and owns a Cupra, that they think about doing it pretty soon, as you will get a free 3" turbo back exhaust system provided you go with an OEM style tail piece :)

Cant be that much different as I have a MkV GTI Milltek on mine. The way the exhaust entered the intake did differ than my standard exhaust though. (round the side of it, rather than straight into the box)

I think the main difference is that on the MSAU287 you have, just down from the connecting flange, the pipe reduces from 3" to 2.75". On the 3" unit, this is not the case. The Cupra/Ed30 unit is very similar to the one on the S3 but adapted for the front drive pipe routing or mounting points.

Still no seperate dp, :wtf: jeez, you'd think that they'd cotton to the fact that there could be quite a demand for these, they sell the S3 dp seperately, why not the ed30???

I would imagine the Oval back end will be in production for sale by Christmas :funk:

Is there any official info about the oval back taipipe and/or the 3" DP ...??? At the moment I'm with the twin tailpipes which are fitting by screws to the back box ... I hope that Milltek would sell the oval tailpipe on its own ...;)

Is that the same Piper that used to trade from a shed near the back end of Hamstreet, oh btw, your website doesn't list any Seat Cupra exhausts at all, now that is funny HAHA

The one going on my car will be the first oval exit pipe Milltek have done for the MK2 Leon Cupra. They are using mine to test the style and fitment. I suspect the only thing they will need to do is change the tail piece from the twin chrome exit to a single oval chrome exit. The 3" downpipe has already been designed and is on one Edition 30 Golf. It has not yet gone into production despite having been designed about a month ago, hence the reason it is not yet for sale. Obviously the the same will apply to the Milltek rear silencer for the MK2 Leon Cupra after it has been designed on my car.

They will put a 3" downpipe on my car, the connecting pipe, and I suspect the same non-resonated centre pipe as the FR/GTi/A3, same axle pipe as the FR/Golf/A3 and the same back box as the FR, only with the exit trim as a single Oval.

The downpipe has a 200cell HJS motorsport catalyst FYI.

None of the exhaust manufacturers have been quick to be the first to supply a proved aftermarket system for the MK2 Leon Cupra which I find surprising in some ways as there are always quite a few people wanting to be first to have it done. This includes Milltek, Jetex and Piper (above).

With regard to Pipers comment above, perhaps you should request some MK2 Leon's in various triim guises from some of the forum members on here so that they have an offering to this part of the forum :). The more choice for us, the better!

If you get it done quick, you may get all the initial business from the MK2 Leon Cupra owners ;)

Remember that Milltek have a car now and therefore will soon have a product and Jetex are looking. These guys are gonna get all the initial business and be used as benchmarks if you are not quick ;)

Just printed off my route :)

I am going to get a non-resonated middle pipe on mine as I have been in a mapped MK5 GTi will a Milltek Turbo back and non-res centre section, and it has a crisp note and is not boomy.)

don't forget that the leon has a very noisy back side because of bad isolation of the boot!!so boomy it will probably be...:(

He He - Thats me on one of our many bending machines. No idea how to use it was just told "stand their and look pretty, lol".

Yep, if anyone want a free full system to suit their MK2 Leon FR (i think thats what the new Cupra R is called) then give me a call. First come first serve etc... The time we have free is in January and we would need the car for 2-3 weeks to develop all the parts :)

Sorry for the Thread Hijack DJHorace :ban:

Ah yes, the Bromley Green site, I used to live in Ashford, left in 91 tho',just a word re the Cupra vs FR, the Cupra has a K04 turbo, the FR K03, smaller flange(ooer missus) on the K03 (AFIAK), so the dp should be 3"diameter, hence all the moans about Milltek...

Okay - So a Cupra uses the K04 Turbo, The FR uses a KO3. Which means a Cupra DP should be 3" and a FR DP should be 2.5".

What are the BHP of these 2 models and are they the same at the back? Tailpipe exits etc...

Pictures would be good if its not too cheeky of me :)

offically 197hp for the FR and 237hp for the cupra.

I think my milltek is 2.75 on my Sport (Pre FR). Would 2.5 make a difference?
Different back tailpipes

By the way Garry, I have a Golf MKV GTI milltek on mine, meaning its basically the same fitting for a Golf MKV and Leon MK2.

Dan - Thanks for the info, was just looking at the seat site then :)

Okay, maybe just develop a 3" downpipe for both models then. Depends on the power output of the car, which is best to use. 180 - 240 2.5" - 220 - 260 2.75" 240 - 300+ 3"

bearing in mind those figures I quoted are standard, and I think most people here would have a remap before they get an exhaust!
