? overfuelling at 5000rpm ?

Had my 2005 LCR (fitted with K&N panel filter, Samco Induction hose and 4 bar FPR) on rolling road and got 217.7bhp.

Remapped then back on rolling road and got 245bhp.

Problem is when compairing old graph with new graph.

Old graph showed bhp increasing way past 5000rpm and new one shows it peaking at 5000rpm and tailing off.

Its a generic map written for standard fuel pressure regulator.

Is the 4 bar fuel pressure regulator over fueling?

Any ideas?

Cheers

If you have the car remapped for the 4 bar FPR then it shouldn't be a problem but as you say it wasn't mapped for this
Did the remapper know you had a different FPR?

He knows now. Its not a custom map.

Would the 4 bar FPR be the reason I am losing power after 5000 rpm? Or should it make no difference?

The 4 bar FPR was on the car before map and BHP didnt tail off at 5000rpm. But after remap BHP tails off at 5000rpm.

I think the 4 bar FPR is for stage 2 remaps only where the remaper can utilise the extra pressure with the specifics of the map.

I would change it back too.

Yeah you are all probably right that I should change it back to the standard one. Question is why did the before remap graph not tail off at 5000 rpm when the 4 bar FPR was fitted then too.

Perhaps the remap increased the fuelling but the 3 bar FPR was holding it back
But now with the setting on the 4 bar one it is allowing more fuel through??
Maybe

Is the power tailing off really drastically or just slightly?

It could be just a characteristic of the map. I have just looked at some logs of a remapped LC where the boost is wound right up from 3k revs to about 5k and then tails off. Just to give the feeling of loads of power at the bottom end.

It would be interesting to see a boost log graph to compare them. (interesting for me cos I am sad like that!!!)

Not necessarily what you want if you end up with nothing at the top end....

Who did the remap out of interest??

I cant remember if the power tails off drastically or just slightly. The guy who put the map on held onto the print out to do some homework on it.

These guys remapped it http://www.obd-auto-tune.co.uk/

I know they will sort it out for me. Either by putting the 3 bar FPR back on or rewriting the map to suit.

Oh yeah, I am sure they will, I was just interested to see if the maps were from the same place as the characteristics seem similar.

It would be good to hear how you get on then mate.

UPDATE

changed map and got 251bhp and 297Ibs.ft but bhp still peaking at 4800-5000rpm

still have 4 bar FPR in

have been told it might be due to me running unleaded and not super that bhp is peaking about 1000rpm too early

any ideas?

its possible I suppose, why you running unleaded and not super unleaded like it says in the handbook?
Surprised your mapper didn't insist that you filled two tanks worth of super unleaded

lol have not read the handbook! Am I not right in saying that on the inside of the filler cap it says unleaded or super?

Just been out to car and read handbook. Says to use 98 Ron but if its not available 95 is ok. So looks like I will be using super unleaded to see what difference it makes to my rolling road results.
