My car has failed its MOT on emissions. Apparently there are fault codes logged which indicate problems with the following components:-

Throttle valve pressure sensor - 058906283F (£152)
Front seat lateral sensor - 6Q090960600A (£214)

Does anyone know whether these would have any effect on emissions, as the dealer doesn't seem to have a clue if replacing these would fix the problem.

Related to this - my car had a starting problem recently and sometimes it would only start if you floored the accelerator. Could this have caused any damage to the engine or cat which would result in an emissions problem?

058906283F - appears to be th N75 valve which controls the turbo actuator, no idea whats the other is.

The dealer read the fault codes.
Where did you get the information on that part? I rang Eurocar parts and they couldn't find either of those on their database.

you cant get that from euro part, its a delaer part only, (ive replaced mines a while back too)

The second item sounds like an airbag related sensor - nothing to do with emissions.

It seems like you could do with Vag-Com on the car to give an idea what's wrong. It'll be air leak/N75/lambda related.....

Sorry I can't be more help.

just put part number in google, theres hundreds of pages saying N75.
which incidentally does not cost £152. more like 40-45 from vag parts.
but, on the other hand, it may not be the N75... could be something else but shows that fault.

the codes displayed can only be understood by dealers dictionary, recommned you get it read on vag instead for a btter understanding.

Well not realy, they have then own version of vag, they dont distribute.
ross Tech have made they own version and cable type for the vag cars.

If you want dealers to fit it you pay for the full part and labour cost. If you prefer your way, use vag instead and replace the parts needed.

I've looked at the vag-com kits supplied by Ross Tech, and they were quite expensive last time I looked.
Anyway I'm pretty sure from the information I got from the dealer that the N75 needs replacing, so that'll be the first thing I try.
