I've now done almost 15K miles in my FR TDi on theoriginal PZero Neros. I've had the problem like others on here that the inside edges of the front tyres are worn very heavily and are now below the loegal limit when the centre and outside edge are worn but still legal.

Anyway, after several hours reading about it on here I have booked the car in for new tyres tomorrow.

I'm getting 2 x 205/40R17 Yokohama Parada Spec 2's and a full all singing all dancing computerised with cameras and lasers wheel alignment which checks for alignment, toe, camber ets on all 4 wheels.

I'm paying £200 for all of the above at a place I trust to do a good job.

What do you guys think about this deal?

Cheers.

Edit - I will be putting them on the rear as I agree with the people who like more grip on the rear!

sounds decent to me. Laser alignment in my neck of the woods (MK) was 80quid, but then I didnt buy tyres from them.

My kuhmo's were 160ish for 2, I dont know how Kuhmos are rated against Yokes but I do know these Kuhmos are rated almost a match for the Pzero's, but not quite. Kuhmo's are Michelin rubber anyway, so they wouldnt want a cheap brand out doing their own brand!

Thats good to hear. The alignment system was shown to me today and it looks the business, its run from a PC which is pre-programmed with all Alignment, toe, camber etc settings for each specific car.

Hopefully it'll sort out the wear problem!

I shall prepare a PM and reply in due course matey:thumbup:

I hope you like not going anywhere very quickly in cold wet weather...

I have read conflicting reports on this - what car did you have them on mate? A good few folk on here rate them quite highly. I'll give them a full review on here after a few thousand miles. I do around 15K miles a year - mostly motorway and I don't throw the thing into corners so hopefully they will be fine for my usage.

Thanks.

if your not throwing it round corners why dont you buy some tyres that last a long time instead of semi slicks  ?

I take it these Prada's dont have much tread then? I like my car to grip the road but I also like them to last a while! I'll be speaking to the "Expert" in the morning and see what he's saying to it - he can do the same price for Tooyo Proxy T1-R's. Might go for them instead!

Get the T1-R`s mate the Prada`s are summer slick tyres and are not meant to be any good in the wet, cold, muddy, icy etc conditions.

Well I think I've made up my mind - phoning tomorrow to cancel the Yoko's and order some Toyo's instead. I had originally asked for Toyo's but the guy was doing Yoko's for the same price and recommended them. It's usually the boss I deal with but I spoke with one of his Monkey's today - that'll teach me!

Cheers for all the comments guys.

No mate, Strathclyde Tyres couldn't match the price and their alignment system isn't as fancy as I like!

I'm going to Farmers Autocare on Neilston Road in Paisley. They also have a place on Inchinnan road (near Love St). I've used them since they opened and trust the guys to do a good job.

I read on another post your a Linwood boy mate - I grew up in North Clippens before moving here to Houston in 02, wher are you in Linwood, what school did you go to?

Cheers!
