alloy wheel HELP please !! anyone.

Hello,

I have a flat tyre, the car is in my yard and i've elevated it and secured it. I've also taken the bolts out and attempted to remove it, however its STUCK.

I've called the Seat service and they said that this is normal with alloy wheels and that i should give it a couple of kicks to force it out.

I've tried that and hit it as hard as i could while making sure i'm not scratching the alloy and still nothing. The damn thing wont move at all.

I need suggestions please, i'm running out of ideas.

My last attempt was to place a piece of wood next to the wheel ( on the inside ) and hit the wood with the flat end of a huge ax. That didn't work either.

P.S. This is my first time changing a wheel, ever.

all bolts are out, including locking bolt?

keep hitting it on the back, top and bottom, use brute force and it will budge eventually

i usually find holding it hand on each side and wiggle it side to side n it eventually comes loose!

mine is beyond that point, its fused, welded

Strange, as said usually a few hard bangs will shift it.

Lucky it's in your yard and not on the side of the motorway.

I had this problem once years ago, i found the best way is..

Firstly put a blanket or cushion on the ground to stop the wheel face hitting the floor and damaging it.

Jack the car up so you can get under the car, spray some wd40 or gt85 in the wheel where it mates to the hub, then sitting, kick the wheel on the inside edge top, bottom and side to side.

If that doesn't get it off, leave the wd40 to soak over night, then give it another go next day.

Then beofre you put the wheel back liberally coat the mating surface with some copper grease, in fact i'd recommend you do this as a matter of couse to all your wheels... once or twice a year.

Make sure the car is well supported.

Wheel on full lock. Get a thick piece of wood against the rear of the alloy rim. Hit wood very hard. If the wheel doesn't loosen, turn the wheel 90 degrees and repeat.

K here's what i did, i took a thick long piece of wood and a small thick piece.

I set the long one against the left ( good ) wheel and the short one against the flat tyre wheel and placed the jack in the middle of the two.

Now, i "jacked" as much as i felt comfortable with and still, nothing.. the damn thing wont come off.

I'm gonna rotate the wheel and repeat this several times; it might work.

This has always worked for me, you may need a hydraulic jack for this.
Jack the car up, remove all 3 nuts but leave 2 on but leave them loose.

Using the jack level, let the jack come down abit, very very slowy. With weight the wheel should move, once you hear the separation. lock the jack before it goes down any more. then jack it up. remove the last 2 nuts and chnage the wheel.

After trying everything I did a very crude method and used some rags to protect the wheel and then used a metal bar to lever the wheel against the break disk. I know its crude but the wheel came of in seconds, I also sprayed with wd40 first.

wow, thats harsh on the poor disk >.<;

Anyway, i caved in today and called the service, then had the car transported over there on a platform and let the guys at the service deal with it.

It took them ~ 25 minutes to take it off; gave them a serious headache.

Anyway the car is sitting on all fours in my driveway as of this afternoon, i even took it for a spin. Feels great
