He supplying all the parts as well? What service is it?

Parts come to about 150 quid with metal impellor water pump. Takes about 3 hours according to bentley and autodata.

Add to that oil, filter, plugs, sump plug, screen wash etc... and its not far off 420 quid.

i had a quote from jp board in bridgend for around 260 with them suppling the parts for just the cambelt and water pump so id say that expenive, iv been that the job can be done easily within two hours and thats from a couple of garages and a seat specialist ex dealer!

need sum advise and perhaps photos, when i bought my car it had the bmc filter on it and was tightly fitted in there, now iv looked at the header tank and the cap litrally sits just under my strut brace, i think it could of been pushed back slightly to accomadate the bmc but as i havent got anything to compare it with im un sure so if u could post a few snaps to c where i stand because iv bought a forge polished cap alothough i havent tryed fitting it i dont think it ul get under!!

also i bought a new standard header tank with im painting black tommorow of a cost of just 10.20!

forgot to mention lads a left bridgend at 4am this morning with two of my mates to have his car mapped by chipwizards in rochdale otherside of manchester i think!

speaking to him about running the 1.8 20vt on standalone and basically him mapping standard ecu's he said hes mapped that engine up to 450bhp, was saying the standard are really good as adjile in the way can take alot of adjustment ,

i mentioned i had a apr map already and he said within a couple of hours good get more power than that a genetic map, with just srapping the apr map,

to be onist the guy is a absolute legend speaking to him he is abolutley brilliant at his job and knows everything you though at him, he had my mates car from overfueling non ideling, lumpy saxo vts to a standard sounding rev monster within 3 power runs,

it pushed 152.3bhp on the rollers with mild cams manifold exhust and filter, those cars are so fun to drive (as i drove it there are back!)and go really well as theres no weight and hes got those mods at a fraction at wot we have spent,

looking around 1k for standalone managment like DTA but he said there will be a bigger power gain in such mods as IHI conversions etc

im thinking if go for a k03s in a couple of weeks and new TIP perhaps giving it a bash, just a little thought anyway!!!

So what you saying rogers? That the standard bosch me7 ecu is good for 450bhp? I think most of us know that.

You hardly hear of anyone with a 1.8t goin for standalone unless its a transplant.

Who's saxo was it?

getting a much better response than i expected for my bits. one of the local boys is interested in a load of stuff and a few other lads are interested in the remainder. soon i could be running revo, the forge dv and cai :( hope i dont regret it, car honestly felt awesome nailing it home from work

it really has been the best car to date, just want something abit better condition with less miles and more comfy without the expense of handling

but does anyone have a half decent rear silencer?

Get a full list of all the parts would be the best and post them up. But if its for a full service with plugs, belt etc.. thats not a bad price.

Looking at gapping my plugs last night, and have read some people use the BKRE7 straight outta the box, but when i looked at the gapping, its no where near the 0.28 that i've read should be the correct gap!

Any idea's?

Chuck them in and see how your CF's are doing.

But .032 are the factory gap, but as theyre colder than standard you can get away with the same gap on a remapped car.

I'm running standard gap PFR6Q's.

i didnt knew the ecu's wer good for that power, just i didnt realise how much more power your looking at with him mapping it over a genetic map, although it would work out expensive,

phil im goign to keep the sub and amp and get a new headunit eswell, to get the best sound out of what iv got, i think im going to buy all new components aswell,
