Having owned a car that had OEM xenon headlights, I really miss them when driving at night.
I'm wanting to upgrade the lights on the Leon, but undecided whether to go down the route of HID xenon conversion or upgraded halogen bulbs. Obviously, halogen bulbs are going to be cheaper, but am I going to happy with the output?

What sort of upgrades have you guys done?

People seem quite happy with the Philips Xtreme Power +80% xenon bulbs... I think that's what they're replacing the stock bulbs with.

Thanks for that.
Been reading some reviews on them & they seem to to get good write ups.

For now, I think I'll get some of these Xtreme Power bulbs for the dipped beam & maybe some high wattage bulbs for the main beam.

Get the Philips +50% bulbs for the high beam. If you get them from powerbulbs.com/.co.uk they come with blue vision sidelights which is worth it as the originals look yellow in comparison after upgrading the others.

Thats what I did :)

the original projector headlamps with xenon not the AFS because they are too expensive like 200euros more

i have all bits needed to make them work like bixenon and it will have stock look and it wont give you burnt light error

It'll be most helpful if you could do a installation write up, as this is what I would want to do at a later date.

For now I have fitted the Halfords Super Brillance +50% in the H7 dipped beams & H1 100W in the main beams.
The dipped ones seem to be a tad brighter. Haven't really used the main beams yet - only for flash.

you need obviusly the 2 headlamps for me it was 202 euros each, you will need a cable to put it under the steering wheel to activate the bixenon option costs like 3 euro and you need 2, and a connector to change the original one because they are different that is about 2 euros each and the bulbs i dont know the price in uk or europe and that's about it.

edit

1P1 941 039 ................Euros 202.00
1P1 941 040................Euros 202.00
1J0973737 conector.....................Euros 3.10 x 2 = Euros 6.20
000 979 131 a Cable.....................Euros 2.00 x 2 = Euros 4.00

D1S i paid like 170$ for 6000k bulbs the pair so its a little bit of money.... i guess the direct replacement should be cheaper i just wanted a little bit more white blueish light

i just need to wait until everything comes from usa to venezuela

i also bought the W5W position but all led but i need a resistor do you know what kind of resistor i need so the ecu doesnt think the bulbs is burnt i also bought the side marker all led too.... little nice changes
