Just to put the record straight on warranties; If a damper has a valid warranty claim (not the case here) and it was either purchased or manufactured less that 2 years ago, the warranty stands. If you cannot find a receipt, you don't have to lie to us (as one person suggested). We know on what day of what year every damper was made, as it has a build code stamped on it. We will honour any valid warranty claim for any damper that is under 2 years old.
Our audited warranty rate on leaking dampers in 2007 is 0.12% (or just over 1 in every 1,000, that is far below the inductry standard).
We will always try to help someone out who sends us a damper that has failed but is not covered under warranty. I this case we offered a 25% discount after we inspected the unit here at the factory.

£200 for 1 replacement coilover shock absorber ................ hahahaha........haha
I'd have bought a new set, then sold the other 3 off as new shocks and broke even, then have a spare set of springs lol.
Seriously that takes the Pi$$, its 600 for a brand new coilover kit, shocks and springs.

thats exactly what i thought , i suppose £200 is better than buying a new kit though , if the other one goes i think i will end up binning them and getting a set of different coilovers

Would that discount also apply to me as ive had the same problem as nick and also am past the warranty deadline?
As long as it is a valid warranty claim, i.e. it is a manufacturing defect or component failure.
Worn out, or damaged dampers are not covered I'm afraid.

Perhaps I can explain.
An Ibiza RSX suspension kit costs £675.
If this kit is bought as "parts" will cost £780, or about £25 a corner more than if bought as a "package". Front RSX struts are very expensive to manufacture and test. This is why we have to charge more for struts than for telescopic dampers.
When we sell suspension kits, we apply a discount to the package - in this case about 15%.
I trust this makes the situation a little clearer.
