Induction Kit

Right guys need help here.....

fitted BMC induction kit at the weekend and since fitting it, the car isnt running smoothly, running very rough!

the 2 connectors on the original filter what are these for?

should these be connected in some way to the new induction kit....

the car is trying to cut out and the idling is jumping about...

any help would be great thanks....

All the clips and plugs should be plugged in, that were plugged into the original air system. There is an air temp sensor which wont be able to go anywhere so you have to trap that between the rubber induction pipe and the BMC filter so it is within the passage of the air...

Either that or cut a hole in the rubber pipe and feed the sensor in.
Thats more than likely your issue

what connector is which? theres a white one n an orange one....

it should fit like that with the air temp sensor stuck between the filter and the rubber pipe. The connectors you describe i dont know what you are reffering to, but should probably go back where they came from.

how do you find the BMC CDA as a filter?
With it being enclosed is it a lot more beneficial than an open one.

yes 100% better... I bought the car with an open cone on so i cant compare it to a standard air box. The first thing to go was the open filter. The noise of the BMC is phenominal, and it may just be me but i noticed a significant difference in the breathing of the engine, seemed to perform better.

right guys chancing my arm..... whos got an adapter that will fit my bmc and attached to the air mass meter? or any advice where to get 1?

it might not be right, but if you got another air mass meter with the metal pipe... you could bolt the two together and then youd have the pipe attachment either side. You wouldnt need to plug the second one in to anything either...

Can't big up these filters enough, they make such an amzing noise and once fed properly really do make a noticable difference!

Will see if I can find some pics of the custom pipe I had on my last one!

gonna contact a place that deals in the fabrication of performance parts and see what they could do for me.... never know i could get some stainless steel piping.... lol

Do let me know and don't forget to ask if they'd do a discount for bulk orders say around 10+ then 20+ as I know most 16V owners would love one of these, don't forget toask on E38, club gti etc for the MK3 Golf owners to!

right guys the place near me is gonna do me a setup for £90 thats it all fitted etc.... i think thats no bad considering the job involved etc etc....

i was just coming down the hill over the train track , you were just about to go over it . only bronze cupra ive seen round this way so assumed it was you . car looked good , mine is a bitch to keep clean , especially with the white ronals now lol
