the black paint is coming off is there anything i could do to repaint it without having to replace it any sugestions:shrug:

Scrape the whole lot off mate, thats what i done, now got a white ring on the top of mine till i can convince myself to pay 70quid for a seat sport one!

its just general wear mate, all the old style knobs done it, its hard to find one that looks good and doesn't cost a fortune!

Just realised gb my last message looked a bit nippy! wasn't meant that way!

I peeled the remainder of the black paint off mine only yesterday, it looks ok for now, better than it did when it was all chipped anyway. You might be able to repaint and varnish it but is it really worth it?


Yup thats exactly what i done! Just left it as a white ring, i think it looks much much better!



EDIT - Just ran out to the drive to take a coupla pics - yes its boggin inside!

That looks ok - I prefer the original but as mine is peeling will have to do the same! I don't want to pay the best part of a ton for a gear knob!

i got one off ebay for a very good price.... thing is if it does this to mine i might just have a go at using a black permenent marker pen see if that looks ok, failing that look on ebay and get myself another ....
