I use an apexi power cone,it fits a treat and sounds sweet, way better than the dyna twist i used to use. But i think filters are a personal thing, everyone likes and rates different ones.

so thats the right part smooth (the raid one)? have you had any issues with yours? maf/fitting problems?

yes mate it looks like the right one to me. Na (touch wood) i havent killed any MAF's yet, and have had mine off, cleaned and re-treated it as well. I did buy some more cold air feed to get it in the front grill thou, which has made it loads quieter in the car, but that was my choice. (Not that it was to loud, i just wanted more air flow) When it was a half length running from the original cold air feed the car has, it sounded ace. :) whistles like a good'un. As for fitting probs, think i posted pics in the thread earlier of the extra bracket etc i made.

You wont get too much growl with a turbo'd car. More whooshing and sucking. Amplifies the DV alot also.

After reading all those posts i really want to change my induction kit now.

I have the vector by pipercross but i want a cold air feed one, so its either dynatwist or carbonio as these seem to be the louder ones when hooked up to the Split R DV. So which is it to be??????

If you want growl, just fit a 3" downpipe, you wont be able to hear the induction kit over it anyway, they rib!!

Whoa!! Just read this thread from start to finish got pretty heated at some points! I'm probably gonna chuck another spanner in the works....

Firstly i'm considering an induction kit for my car '02 Leon Cupra currently with Forge 007, REVO stage 1, Blueflame Turbo back..what ever noise it makes I'm not really bothered (so long as it doesn't sound broken...). But believe it or not, I'm a K&N man....(urrgh, I hear people cry). Currently have the panel filter and had no issues whatsoever with the MAF, been fitted for 2 years now. I know reports show they are a problem with VAG, guess I'm just lucky so far.... For me its the company that has the history of dealing with filters, induction kits etc.

So, as I have good experiences with K&N I was considering one of thier Typhoon kits, I think they look great (especially the polished alu against my silver car), have quality mounts to fit, well engineered and on my car have a dyno plot to prove an additional 8-10bhp. But cost a FORTUNE!! So I'm grateful for this thread to read about the options, unless I scoop some Premium Bonds cash then I will probably invest in a Typhoon...

What a thread! Some strong opinions and very good advice :)

Just been reading up on IK's as it's another nooby area of mine with the lcr, seems like the RAM Air is the way to go if setup correctly...

I'm after a good bit of noise and a small gain (I'm not expecting much) The BMC CDA is the reliable, well built performer from the sounds of it, but comes at a price and is kinda quiet going by people's responses...

So where can I get a RAM Air at a competitive price with everything I need? And will it fit as it comes?

I don't want to start bodging things up under the bonnet..
