My cars been spluttering at idle, revs drop to around 500 then jump back up to normal, sounds like it's about to stall. But once moving it drives fine. It's when the cars heated up, not when on the choke. Any ideas what the problem is? I have vagcom, just not had a chance to scan yet.

That's the weird thing,it drives fine, just really jumpy idle. It revs normally, then drops and splutters, then back to normal again. Will vagcom it tonight though. Any other suggestions?

Reset the throttle body with vag com and maybe clean it as well as they tend to gum up over time, also check the vaccum pipes!

Ok,run vagcom and returned these fault codes:
2 Faults Found:
17705 - Pressure Drop between Turbo and Throttle Valve (check D.V.!)
P1297 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
17545 - Fuel Trim: Bank 1 (Add): System too Rich
P1137 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

Am I right in thinking these are linked to the temperature sensor?
I have cleared the codes but not driven it since

I had the same problem last week.... for about 2 days.... its been ok this week...... The Temp Sensor was changed about 3 weeks ago...... I have not reset anything yet as the problem seems to have gone away for the time being..

Interested in the DV fault.... mine was changed around 25,000 miles ago... How long do they tend to last... it was replaced by the dealers, so presumably a standard seat part.

Not too sure,my vagcom suggested the dv could be to blame. How do I reset the throttle body using vagcom?

To reset Tb follow this procedure...

[Select]
[01 - Engine]
[Measuring Blocks - 08]
Group 060
[Go!]
[Switch to basic settings]
Once you do this you will see the top right display say ADP RUN. The TB adaptation is being done as soon as you switch to basic settings. You will see the values change and hear the TB cycle for the first few seconds then it will stop. Leave it in Basic Settings for about 30 seconds.
[Switch to Meas. Blocks] button and you're all set.

Be sure not to touch the accelerator and make sure the engine is NOT running when you do this!

APD Vag - Near Holton Heath
You can reset the throttle body by simply disconnecting the batttery for an HOUR, then you must turn the ignition on, DON'T start it yet, just WAIT for the throttle body to reset, get you'r head under the bonnet and listen, once its stopped whining fire her up!:banned:
