Has anyone else noticed that when you wind the window down when its been raining, the roof full of water, that all the water pours through the window onto your arm and shoulder?

Yeh. or all over your seat then leaves water marks! :(

Mine sometimes has the lumpy idle, not all the time though.

Maybe your car just needs a dam good run to clean all the crap out? maybe its just crying for a blast! does help!

its exactly the same for me, as the engine warms up the problem goes away, or at least seems to happen less often. My car is still booked in for the beginning of September as the dealer wants to try and fix it. I've given them the information from various threads here about EGR and will have to wait and see what they come up with. Thanks for the link, I'll pass that on as well and see what they are prepared to do about it. They are really helpful.

Post up and let us know how you get on at the garage.

My 07 FR tdi 'stutters' at about 1800 rpm. I posted on here regarding this
previously. I understand that 'they all' do this and that it is down to ye olde emissions regulations.
Try BRISKSKODA, as they have a 'sticky' on this subject.
Only thing for it is a remap imo. :funk:

This has been going on since I got the car in May, the dealer has been helpful and reckons they can fix it, I don't know if it is by applying the fix from Skoda but when its done, and if it works I'll let you know. Emissions regulations isn't really an excuse for a stuttery car, did they tell you about it when you bought the car that it judders? I think probably not, and that gives you grounds to give it back as a fault. I don't know if its as severe for everyone but mine is quite bad sometimes, and then other times hardly anything at all. Have a search for sale of goods act on google, it should be the same (I think) regardless of it being a car and not a calculator.

Lucky enough this is something I haven't noticed with my fr, it has abit of a rough idle but then so does my dad's PD150 Golf gti so I haven't thought much about it.
Thing that annoys me most is actually the clutch slip which doesn't happen all the time but sometimes it really tries to spoil your fun.

This might have absolutely nothing to do with it, but since fitting the PD160 intake with flap removed at the mouth, Green panel filter and using BP Ultimate fuel, my stutter seems to have gone. Whether the ECU has to 'learn' all of this gradually, I don't know.

Did 250 miles last weekend (mixture of roads) and never missed a beat. I think I'll leave things well alone.

When i fitted the green filter the stutter isn't as bad, I didn't do the PD160 intake though. It seems that the stutter moved to lower down the rev range and occurs less, but it still does it. Is it worth getting the PD160 intake? Does it make a massive improvement, or even noticable over just having the green cotton filter?

I have always used BP Ultimate diesel, but did the filter and intake at the same time. Don't expect miracles performance-wise from these mods though. The ECU will adapt over time.
If the stutter is EGR related it usually occurs at around 1700rpm.

Update at last

I have the car back, it no longer stutters. They had the car for a day in the end, from what I can gather from the fix report, checked the ECU fo errors and then basically applied the fix from the Skoda website with the modified gasket. I've been driving the car last night and today and not a peep out of it yet. Its probably too soon to tell but initially things look good.

I bought the wind deflectors form ebay hoping this wouldn't happen anymore. Fitted them, they match and look ok but the 1st morning after fitting them I got in the car....and got soaked again. I haven't removed them though as I think they look quite interesting.

i think it's quite funny really, it's a shame it doesn't happen on the passenger side as it would double the fun

I fitted wind deflectors to my Mk4 and don't get any water in the car anymore :)

The stutter that happens intermittently at idle is a PD130 thing, its just a rough idle. I decreased the EGR rate and it made no difference.

With the filter peeking out the airbox, mines does that too - I think that's also a common issue.
