hi,

i need some help.just had a car reverse into me at some speed, was expecting to get out and the front end would be gone but there insnt much damage to see by eye.The drivers front bumper is slightly hanging out with the drivers light pushed in a bit too but the thing that is bothering me is that where the bonnet lines up with the bumper at the front(around the grill) i have a step from the bonnet to the bumper about 10mm.As i havent had the car long,i dont know if thats what its meant to be like or the bumper and everything else have been pushed back 10mm??
When i took it to the garage to get a quote, they wasnt sure what has happened or if it has or not.
so if anyone could help me with this,it will be great. The car is a leon cupra, not a cupra r if this helps??

cheers

Could you post some pics up mate. I would be better to see what it looks like and perhaps see if anyone can notice more of a step.

Sorry to hear by the way, must be frustrating!

Yeah I've done something similar (but ran into the back of someone myself)

Everything seems to hold together quite well, but I wouldn't mind betting the arms on the top of the headlights will be broken (if you've not checked yet)

A bodyshop will pull it back relatively easily, but it might not be cheap :(

...maybe live with it for now if it's not too bad and you can't claim off his insurance

Were you in the car at the time it was hit? If so i hope you got the other drivers insurance details, it may not look damaged but if any work needs doing because of this it shouldn`t come out of your pocket.

it was at a junction mate and it was a woman lol
she went to turn right, was to busy so she decided to turn left so reversed without looking and straight into my car,she admitted fault straight away and it is going through insurance, just wanted to know before the garage fobbed me off saying its meant to be like that

The top pic... Mine is very similar, the bonnet doesn't quite meet the bumper either, there is a gap there. Although your bumper is definitely inward of the bonnet, whereas mine isn't.

Bottom pic....Drivers side, just behind indicator??? Thats definitely not supposed to be like that. Mine is flush.

Hope that helps mate.

yes mate, that helps alot,i knew the bonnet didnt quite meet the bumper due to me looking at past pics of my car before the crash, just couldnt tell if the bumper had been pushed in as i didnt think it was inward that far before.
The light i knew werent meant to be like that as the passenger side is flush, just showing the other damage

thanks for the help mate,i can now tell the garage the bumper aint meant to be pushed that far back which means something behind the bumper has been pushed in quite far!!

A real shame mate!

They definitely need to take the bumper off and look behind. Its worth making sure they do everything while they are there as there could be some hidden damage.

Garage won't fob you off - why would they want to lose money? :)

If anything, they'll find a fault with your flux capacitor too... ;)
