well I had a mk3 with the black cloth seats and even rain water on them made a stain

I tried loads of stuff but the best and cheapest was Mr mussel window cleaner, the green liquid spray

just spray all of the seat, give it a little bit of a rub with a cloth, then start her up and put the heating on hot/recirc with the windows open a little whilst you have a cuppa

clean seats for under a quid

oh,oh clean your windows with it too, it's good stuff

a guy on briskoda swears by "shout" for his octavia vrs, silver fabric seat is not the esiest thing in the world to keep clean.
please read the instructions or try somewhere discreet first ,before going mad with any household cleaner.

Do you not find household window cleaners smear really badly? I use Autoglym glass polish on the car and at home as it's so easy and doesn't smear - but I would be pleased to hear of something cheaper and easier :)

Use newspaper on the windows instead of a cloth with any household glass cleaner (even the Sainsbury's own brand stuff) - I guarantee that you'll have smear-free glass. I only use newspaper to clean glass nowadays - both on my car, and my house. It's another good reason to buy The Sunday Times too.

You can also use Mr Sheen to clean mirrors, the trick is not to use a lot...

Try it.

I use something similar, I use that Vanish spray that comes in a pink bottle. Used it on the hood liner and all my seats, works really well as you dont have to aggitate it too much for it to work.

now i was was just about to start a thread on this topic so might as well muscle in.
My seats aren't exactly stained they are just looking a little tired i tried using the autoglym foam but that just seams to cause stain spots where is has fallen heavier than other areas.
so my real question is what people suggest for general cleaning of fabric, by the way if people dont already know is the LCR black fabric (so it just all looks a little grey)
