Had one in my Mk4 Golf & my Passat, and once you get over the handbrake thing they really are great.

Motorways is the best place for them, but now I don't have one in the LC I really miss it!!

When I had a new Jetta as a hire car (after some muppet in a white van drove along the side of the Leon [:@]) it had an armrest. Different design to the one I am interested in buying but it was fantastic. Made motorway driving much more relaxing.

When I am driving in the big bad city of Belfast I will just put it up. The only other item I would like to have is cruise control, now it was fooping fantastic!!:)

I personally wouldn't bother. I looked into this a few years ago on my LCR and never got round to it. My Bora has got a leather arm rest but I always leave it "up" as it gets on my tits in the "down" position. Seriously it really is annoying.

Much better ways to spend £100-£200 imho. :)

Horses for courses... I love mine, especially when cruising along the autoroutes :)

i was dead lucky, one came up on ebay ,original seat leon leather one, with fitting kit and all bolts etc. In original box packaging, i won it for £76..... was over the moon, just need to fit it now.

how did you guys cut out the ash tray bit, stanley knife any good or would it be worth getting a dremel (always wanted an excuse to buy one lol)

Excellent price!
The fitting of mine was a little awkward due to having the centre console covered in leather, so I had to take my time and be very careful. I started rough cutting with a Stanley knife and then finished it with a Dremel and coarse stone attachment.
Makes a hell of a difference to driving comfort. :D

i chain drilled mine out using a 5mm drill bit in a battery drill, then finished it off with a stanley knife. Just be careful not to take to much out. do it very slowly!!! and remember measure twice - cut once!!!!!!!! good luck!! its well worth the effort!!!
