i scoured a few scrap yards for mine!!!! came across a mark4 golf with a black cloth interior!!! stripped it down retrieved the armrest and fitting kit - £45 bargain!!!!! then just had to have b*lls of steel and cut out the tray at the rear of the centre console and fit it!!!! easy as that and well worth it IMO

I got one last week and you have to take out alot more of the coin tray than on the genuine ones which leaves the surrounding centre console flimsy. Also when driving the lid rattles if your arm isn't on it. Plus fitting them is very difficult because of the bolts they give you with the armrest. If you have a short fuse then don't try fitting one yourself, i think i threw the armrest once which wasn't the most sensible thing to do

i didnt mate, i took the coin tray out exactly, but i suppose its just how good you are with a tool in your hand!!!!! n your second hand armrest must be knackered coz mine doesnt rattle!!!!!

i take it then the armrests from hong kong are copies and not originals as stated.
this is confusing.
want an armrest but don't want to spend a fortune as i may not like it in the car.

The ones from Hong Kong are copies, if you're gonna get one go to your local SEAT dealer and order one from them. I got quoted £125 and if i'd of known how bad the copies are i'd have paid the extra £75.

Hello all,

I've followed this thread with great interest. I really really really wanted an armrest for my Leon. So anyway went down to my local dealers to order one, came equipped with my trim code and went to order one.

Anyway, from the thread people are saying the armrest costs £130ish and the SEAT site confirms this. However when I went to order one about 6 months ago I was told about £155 for the base section and a further £55ish for the lid

Needless to say over 200 notes was a bit to rich for me. Has anyone on the forum gone to a SEAT dealer and bought the complete Armrest, i.e. base section and lid, for £130?

Cheers
Mr FINN

i asked the dealers about that the armrest and they were at about £200 ish, so i said look on your web site and its states £130 ish.
they looked it up and said they would get an answer if yes or no for the web site price, cause they wasn't sure.
i told them that if they made a mistake it was their fault...sold as seen type thing.. £123.99

but by the time they got back to me and said yes (2 weeks later)they would have to sell it at that, i'd given up waiting and got one elsewhere.

SO MIGHT BE WORTH A TRY :)

I personally wouldn't bother. I looked into this a few years ago on my LCR and never got round to it. My Bora has got a leather arm rest but I always leave it "up" as it gets on my tits in the "down" position. Seriously it really is annoying.

Much better ways to spend £100-£200 imho. :)
