hi im looking to get a leon 1.8t and getting the cupra r kit for it and was wondering if i should save up for the facelift and change the front bumper or start from scratch with the pre facelift, so if anyones converted one is it a lot of hassel and does it work out more expensive in the long run?

cheers

I think someone asked this question pretty recently, and the response was that it's well expensive to get all the new body kit bought, painted and fitted compared to paying extra for the car

face lift cupra you get body kit and wider wheels, bigger alloys and I believe the suspension was revised....?

If you wanted a Cupra R looking car, worth paying the extra for the Curpa R in my opinion. But I love my Facelift... relatively unique and subtly sexy.

The only thing I would change on the facelift is the alloys... considering some OZ Supertourismo's but cleaning a black car is hard enough as it stands!!! :D

If you can afford it buy the LCR,
if not buy the facelift, i still really like it!
facelift looks amazing in yellow,
if not any of those get the prefacelift,
don't change the looks, spend money on power and have a true street sleeper!

Dont spend a small fortune on making a car something its not! I toyed with the idea of facelift bumpers on my pre facelift, whish I dont think is too bad an idea, as the cars are generally the same underneath, but to try and turn a cupra into a cupra R with a set of bumpers is a waste of money, especially when it wont be as fast! Either spend more and buy an R or buy a cupra facelift or pre and spend the extra cah on making it go fast!

 Just what i was going to say..... ;)

But if you go for the preface lift, try to get one with the AUQ 1.8t engine, as these are better for tuning potential.. ie more power, still not an lcr tho'

Mate its personal choice, if you want to kit up your car go for it....i did my tolly....mainly cos i liked the facelift cupra look....its wasnt a 1.8t and didnt go as fast as a cupra, but then not everyone tries to prove their car goes fast.

i advise getting the facelifted cupra from the start if thats the look your after as it does work out expensive to retro fit.....

thanks for the opinions everyone, think im going to try and get a facelift cupra as they stand out from the pre facelifts and the interiors are quite a bit nicer in black all over.

Think an R may be out the price range to buy and for insurance as the cupra is at the top of my budget as it is but should last me a while as there easily tuneable after the insurance comes down a bit
