trouble changing gear

only noticed this today but im beginning to really struggle changing up and down when on the move5.
5th and 6th are generally ok.but couldnt even get it in any up to 4th b4!!
dont think its the clutch maybe the linkage.
did a search before and found a few things mostly related to people booting it tho.this does it changing down too???
also dont fancy going the stealers as i dont fancy waiting about 2months again!!

OK MAJOR TROUBLE NOW!!!just been out for a drive to try and pin point what is wrong and the clutch pedal wouldnt come back up and i could smell it as i arrived home!! the gear are fine when engaged.
managed to get back by finding the right speed for each gear so im hoping the clutch is ok!HELP PLS!!!

how do i check the cable???(had a civic b4,not used to things breaking)!!!cars got 50 k on it now done about 6k on the remap.clutch has never slipped just today it was really hard to change up or down then like i said,the clutch went down and never returned!!

just had a look in the engine bay and handbook and couldnt see anything to do with clutch?no fluid on the driveway!!im absolutely bamboozled!!any other advice??
also how would i definately know if its the clutch coz thats surely going to cost a fair amount!??

right a friend of mine just had a look and the clutch is on the same system as the brakes and brakes are fine as is the fluid.
bled the system and pumped the clutch still the same little grinding noise when depressing the clutch fully.he reckons its the thrust bearing or something!!l
lokks like clutch change then!how much is this gonna set me back????
help im stuck on the driveway!!

master cylinder has gone and by the sounds of it so has your clutch and bearing gone:(

gutted bout this!next month was gonna be my first without spending any on the car.
looks like things have all of a sudeen changed.is it worth getting an uprated clutch or just std?
dunno how much diiference in £££ not in the mood to search either:(

Same has happened to mine, on cold in the morning the clutch pedel is very slack and the biting points is so low that i cant even get it into gear.

I have to Ram it into gear (not good for the gear box) for a few minutes and as the car warms up, after 10mins or so the bitting point rises and the clutch pedel gets less slack.

I had the same problem last year and Seat replaced the master cyclinder, cost about £180.

It going into Seat southgate today for them to have a look, hopefully it is the master again so that it can be fixed under warrenty, but i bet they are going to say it is the slave this time.

Just got a call from seat southgate and they said that it will cost £800 to fix my clutch problem

He said that the master cyclinder had leaked and contaminated the clutch and the gear box oil and so i will need a new clutch, new master and slave cylinder to fix the problem.

parts £300
labour £500

I cant belive that it needs so much work, does this look right?? can anyone help?

my clutch was shot at bearing flywheel the lot!took it down to awesome gti yesterday and they sorted it for me they had a spare kit knocking round for mine so they used that and im back on the road again:D..........580 quid down tho!!!!:cry:

this is weird my cupra 225 o4 plate has now a clutch problem yesterday seemed to have about an inch of freeplay on clutch pedal just been out for a blast pedal stuck down then seemed fine for about a mile then had no clutch gave pedal a few pumps came back but now about 2 inch freeplay only had car 2 months and got warrenty from dealer feels to me like master cylinder is on way out is this a common nightmare?
