mine was really stiff(changing gear!!!!)just before it went so would be well worth getting it looked at!!!you dont want to lose your clutch during rush hour or somewhere miles away!!!

only noticed this today but im beginning to really struggle changing up and down when on the move5.
5th and 6th are generally ok.but couldnt even get it in any up to 4th b4!!
dont think its the clutch maybe the linkage.
did a search before and found a few things mostly related to people booting it tho.this does it changing down too???
also dont fancy going the stealers as i dont fancy waiting about 2months again!!

Hi mate.

Sounds like the same issue as mine. Click my profile and search for my thread on this.

I was very unlucky. The same problem happened to my LCR. The gears had trouble engaging, then the pedal started to stick and not come back up properly.

Get this looked at asap.

usually a problem with the Master Cylinder first of. I had mine replaced and it still happened. Then the nightmare Slave cylinder had to be changed.. Guess what it still happened. All in all after much scratching our heads the only option was to get a new clutch and flywheel.. happy to say after spending [:@] over £690 on the whole lot it works beautifully!! I was lucky to have got a refund from my bank just weeks before...

Have to have a rant here too.......leaving work yesterday evening noticed the car (not engine) stuttering and shaking in 1st gear when taking off, later on in the evening it started to get worse!! :help:

Pedal got flimsy, gears were getting difficult to work with, by the end of the night, the car didn't want to go in gear!!! Only way was to switch off the ignition, clutch down, into gear, turn the ignition on and start car! Then the car wanted to move on its own even with the clutch down! But using the accelerator got some control back and smooth movement.

So dropped it off to the garage this morning all the way in 2nd gear. Garage said it's most likely the master cylinder and should be done today.......5pm and they need to look at it further! They never quite said why, but something along the lines of it's not fixed and need to check the slave, could be ready Monday. Weekend ruined.....

Along with that the clutch will be looked at, and I can feel a big dent in the wallet already!! [:@]

After a year and half of ownership I thought I would be one of the lucky ones without any probs to the LCR, 55k on the clock too!

rung 2 dealers today and nobody had any time so booked in next saturday jumped in tonight and car was undrivable not to be beat looked under pedals and could see master cylinder quick spray with silicone spray and now seems perfect again still going in next week as i want it right got ten months warranty left so lets hope i get a new master cyl. is it just a lubriction fault with the masters? if i get a new one its getting covered in white ptfe spray grease to prevent future failiure

After being quoted £900 for a clutch change by seat i decided that i will get someone elso to change the clutch for me.

I bought the parts from Seat clutch, master, slave and a new gearbox mount as mine was cracked. parts cost me £350

Went to the local garage and he said that he can fit the parts for £250

All done now and the car drives like new, hopefully the problem will not happen again.
