Im talking about the APP engine so no VVT....

Who on here has big power LC's?
Im talking pushing and breaking the 300bhp barrier.

Just want to know roughly how much it would cost to buy the big turbo, fmic, injectors, forgies? etc etc
Thought about selling and buying an S4 but I really love my Leon! Want to make it fast, money not really a problem although I dont want to spend any more than the car is worth so call it up to £4-5k

Buy the S4, much nicer built & more comfy - yet severely quick when mapped

Seconded. Plus a heavily modified car - which the LC would have to be to be anywhere near a standard S4 - is always more likely to have problems, be less reliable, need more specialist attention, parts and servicing and may cost just as much to insure.

I really enjoyed driving cpufreak's old S4 to germany.

I have never enjoyed driving a leon that much. Nice throttle sound, well built - and not that bad on fuel considering

able to drive all day, and still feel fine

You missed won't have the resale value you put into it either :)

Thanks for the comments guys,

My only problem with the S4 would be running costs. 1st year wouldnt be a problem but its a 2.7 with 2 K03 turbos as Opposed to a 1.8 with 1!

Finding a 2.7 thats suits me could be a problem also, I want a late model (2001) with no more than 50k miles preferably an avant... :)

I think we will see how I feel when the money lands in my bank! Your comments have definatley made me think twice about an S4 now, its back on the list.

S4 all day and any day

The Leon will never come close in style, performance and value compared to the S4

But you're thinking of changing that one, small, K03s turbo for a BIG turbo, so that's going to increase running costs. As will all the other mods you're planning. Then there is the fact you'll ideally have to service the car more frequently, with oil changes between services to keep the engine healthy now it's under so much more stress.

I don't think you'll see much difference between them to be honest, over the course of a year :)

i dunno when im driving the avant about i prefer the leon in some areas. the rs4 is hard to see out of at the front if your tall and the clutch is very high at the moment due to being new.

But its definatly a much better ride.

It's true about insurance!

With regards to the insurance being just as much as an S4 on a modified car, in my experience it will be less for the S4.

When I got rid of my LCR one of the cars I was looking at was an S4. The cheapest quote I could get on the LCR (with only a remap) was just over £600.

Amazingly, I was able to get several quotes for an S4 around £500!

It just goes to show how crazy insurance is...

Depends on what you want though right? I wanted an S4 or BMW M3, but the insurance and running cost was too much.

I have an LCR now and only gone stage 1 with it, and iv always had a smile on my face ever since.

S4 is nice, but i think my LCR looks better IMO.
