Hellp peeps,

My 2.0 16v Ibiza seems a little out of breath until i proper give it some stick, i have had a feeling the piperx has been one of the issues, and it sounds like it after reading through these posts. Gonna go for the drilled airbox, anyone got one? Might even buy a new one, bet it costs a heap though!

Also, have any of you lot found a place to buy Topaz blue paint? can't find it, even the Seat dealer Coventry was no help! I have seen a Peugeot Topaz blue which looks very close, let me know! cheers:rolleyes:

get your paint code out of your boot/ manual, and get some made up.

piper cross, sound great but unless sheilded and/or fed cold air they are as good as useless.drilled airbox, with green panel filter and a cold air feed is what you need.cheaper then an induction kit too :)

Nice one, yeah heard nothing but bad for the piperx thing, was in there when i got the car about 2 months ago, someone might want it when i get rid of it, trip to a scrappy i think to look for an air box, bet the 16v has a different one to the smaller engined cars! The search is on. Also having a nightmare replacing the screw on bee sting, can't seem to find any that will simply replace the old one, its a screw thread then a straight bit, thought it would be so simple!

I have a piperx with a full heat shield and cold air feed. it only works really well when cleaned every 5-7k miles. But its really good, i have nothing but praise for it. Just make sure you clean and oil it regularly.

To the boi Ninja, had a look at your car, same as mine. I tell you what we could do, if you have the original air box, we could even do a swop if you like? Just an idea!
No money involved, just the swop.

Clean it or swop it? HHMMMMM.

Oh mrurbanite your the booger who bought that gorg blue 16v before I could get me mitts on it, it looked well clean, well done mate.

just to add in I had a BMC CDA airbox with a custom intake pipe made out of samco piping & custom joins fed by a cold air feed, it worked very well and scared the living daylights out of pedestrians, animals & pretty much anyone who I passed when giving it the beans it was so loud (it was the biggest box they make which is supposed to be track only) but sounded the dogs.

Only trouble I had was cold mornings it made it a bit lumpy till she warmed up!

Grayboy, yeah, as soon as i saw the motor on autotrader i picked up the phone and put a deposit on it, bit risky but had been looking for the blue for ages, its not 100% but should be A1 by xmas. Had someone key it within a week of owning it!
Will be down in Upminster next week so you might see me on your travels!

I wish I had, I saw it, went away and did some sums called the bloke the following morning and he said he had a deposit, I was gutted especially as I could have easily afforded it, just glad it went to a fellow enthusiast!

I'm on the lookout for another black one I think, can't find a blue one, don't like red, copper or Kiwi but could be tempted to get a Yellow one and go Rally slag all the way!

got what seems to be a nice Black 8v on hold while the bloke on holiday, just hope it lives up to expectation.

Pondlife, I've been really lucky (touch wood) and never come back to my car with new decor down the side.
Me and a mate did put the fear of god up a scumbag once when we caught him keying a Evo in our local Sainsbury's, spent 10 minutes letting him beg while pretending to keep my mate from carving c*nt into his forehead with his own key, I don't think he did it again in a hurry but feck me did we laugh about it for weeks!

So what you got planned for her?

Hello mate, yeah i was well pissed when a saw the scratches, just wanted to go beat some little shites up! But then thought, whats the point, get it fixed!
No majour plans for the motor, just get it near 100%, little things like side skirt jacks, fog light surrounds have be replaced, get the skirts colour coded and then get the wheels refurbed. Going Bright silver or gun metal grey for the wheels. The car already had uprated discs and pads, managed to get hold of the old owner, brakes are only a month old and a new cam belt was done 10,000 ago, so not too much to to really - he got tempted by a Leon cupra at the dealership so part x'd the Ibiza. Best car i'v had, had four Scirocco's before this!
