Hello mate, yeah i was well pissed when a saw the scratches, just wanted to go beat some little shites up! But then thought, whats the point, get it fixed!
No majour plans for the motor, just get it near 100%, little things like side skirt jacks, fog light surrounds have be replaced, get the skirts colour coded and then get the wheels refurbed. Going Bright silver or gun metal grey for the wheels. The car already had uprated discs and pads, managed to get hold of the old owner, brakes are only a month old and a new cam belt was done 10,000 ago, so not too much to to really - he got tempted by a Leon cupra at the dealership so part x'd the Ibiza. Best car i'v had, had four Scirocco's before this!

Picked up a good one then, most of what you've listed is pretty std stuff to replace, those jack covers are forever going missing without some double sided tape or alike on the back! Cambelts done too! done very well there it's £300+ from a dealer!!

Yeah I'm coming back, I've driven a few cars in this price range and nothing is as solid, quick or reliable plus I like the fact no-one knows what it is, I left my last one (16v to) std as it was in such good nick but this time I'm going to turn it into a road & track warrior, just need to decide what to throw under the bonnet, spoke to QPEng today and their still struggling with the new Golf MK5 Turbo Lump so that may be out of the question, maybe a V5 on throttle bodies as I want something different!

Will keep the pics and Info coming, good luck with yours, I'll keep an eye out for a blue beeza at the weekend!

Will keep

If all goes to plan I'll have mine around the 16th and the Brakes, Suspension & Wheels should follow the within a couple of weeks

Hi

What was the general consensus then? piperx induction kit or drilled airbox?
Ive got a piperx on at the moment but have just found an airbox bor sale. Is it worth changing back to the original airbox or keep the piperx?

Cheers

As for paint try http://www.paints4u.com

Got my paint for my spoiler there. Get you paint code and put all the relevant details in once you've clicked choose colour.

Be aware you may have to select the manufacturer as VW and model as either Polo/Golf to get the colour. Had to do that to get my paint!

They charge an awful lot for paint, even Halfords are cheaper than them and they offer the same service! I have to say though, that plasti-kote can gun looks awesome, I'm going to order one! :D

Anyway back on topic, Pipercross filters can improve performance if they're kept clean. Many places sell their cleaning kits. Personally, I won't stick any of them in my car, I'd rather buy a £5 Mann paper filter and change it every 5k.

they are maybe expensive for paint, but they are an exact match. Ive heard alot of bad press about halfods and there paint that when you get it, it really isnt an 'exact' match.

I can have no complaints about the paints4u.com paint, it is a 100% match and its so easy to use.

Definetely get one of those plasti-kote can guns. Just clips onto the top of the can!! It is so easy to use and gives an even coat when spraying. Im going to use it for putting the clearcoat on my spoiler aswell.

I must've had 4 different custom colour cans from Halfords in my time, they matched up fine. I had one occasion where it was slightly too light, I took it back as the spray mechanism wasn't working right and they made up another can a bit darker for me - perfect!

Just make sure the person knows what they're doing. Luckily, the local Halfords staff are VW enthusiasts and have worked there for years. Not that I shop there a lot!

Pondlife, I've been really lucky (touch wood) and never come back to my car with new decor down the side.
Me and a mate did put the fear of god up a scumbag once when we caught him keying a Evo in our local Sainsbury's, spent 10 minutes letting him beg while pretending to keep my mate from carving c*nt into his forehead with his own key, I don't think he did it again in a hurry but feck me did we laugh about it for weeks!
 i would of battard him [:@]
