To be honest mate, the most I could stretch to would be about £5750 and that would even damage me until my next payday. It seems to have a lot of ICE in there, could you possibly sell that else where and do a better price on the car itself. I know thats a pain in the arse, but just thinking of ways around the price.

Cupra_Jeff this is my car for sale,

How do you have the nerve to sit at your computer and slate my car. I purchased this car and i truely respect my cars, seriously hand on your heart does it honestly look like an utter shed???? I think not. I have spent £££'s servicing & maintaining and getting this car running, sounding & looking as well as it does. If it's such a shed how come i've never had no bother with it & people love it?????

Your more than welcome to come and see it now and eat your hat.

Sorry to rant but i think you've been a complete t*at!!!

i would be inclined to agree with jeff on that, i went to look at this, and it had been well let go, rims where curbed to feck, oil was well under min level and quite a few parking dinks. But you have obviously put some time and money into it, so good luck with the sale

Glassy,

Found this one on pistoheads, not the colour your after however, decent price and low mileage.

Wheels are gash but he'll knock money off if u have the standard wheels. Dont seem a bad price for the mileage:)

Thanks Dan - If that was another colour I would jump at the chance, but I really dont fancy a yellow one. I know im being fussy because that is spot on, but I really want a black or a blue one.

Yeah no worries,

I was in your shoes once but the other way round, was desperate for yellow:lol:

Mileage was impressive on that so thought id send your way. Any luck on the motor hunt yet? Found any to your liking yet?

I dont like those wheels on the Yellow one, they dont suit the car IMO, I prefer much more subtle styled wheels.

The blue one definately looks the part in the photos but then photos can be deceptive. Its probably worth going up to look at it (just dont fall in love with the 1st one you see) just to see what the car is like in the flesh.

Dont over go your budget though, every now and then a real gem pops up for a decent price, you just have to be patient.

As for being advised to steer clear I think it would put me off buying it. Obviously I dont know this car nor have I seen it in the flesh so I cant comment.

I would go and have a look just for the sake of it though and judge for yourself.

The Blue and Yellow one are both in the midlands, so if I've got time off on Sunday I might take a trip up and see the pair of them. I know a fair bit about cars in general, so its not like im blind to cars thay havent been mechanically looked after.

I love the look of the blue one, and the mods seem impressive; but the yellow one looks spot on because its not been played with and the mileage is low.

Hmmmmmmmm...

Thing I learnt with these cars is be prepared to travel. I travelled from Reading to Torquay which is a bit of a misson (a good 230-3hrs)just to view mine. Did the same trip the next week to go and pick it up.

A ggod tool to take with you would be Vagcom, you could just plug your laptop into the car and scan it for faults. You should be fine if you know what to look out for and shouldnt end up with a lemon.

If the blue one has a few cosmetic scuffs but is mechanically sound then it might be worth trying to do a deal.

Mine was a bit tatty when I bought it, scuffed wheels, faded callipers etc. Ive quite enjoyed getting it up to scratch  how sad :ban:

How can you have the nerve to sit there at your computer and tell us that car is spot on.... all i'm saying is that in my opinion when i went to see the car (when it was initially up for £7500) it really wasn't worth the money.

Fair play you love your cars etc... but the damage is probably all ready done especially if its been run with no oil.

Anyway i seem to remember that there was a previous user name that you used to post under you had more than a few issues with various things on this motor, so don't play Johnny big potatoes with me...

I ain't telling you thief!
If I were you, I'd hold tight until the right car pops up. I'd recommend staying clear of modded cars. A lot of guys on here look after them and do the mods right, etc. but there are just too many muppets and chavs out there. The virgin cars are becomming rarer though.

I watched out on Autotrader and Piston Heads for 6 months until I found my 2001 artic silver on 22k miles. I paid £6,5k for her, but she was and still is mint. It would pay you to view a few to gauge the difference you can get between them.

Nice cars though!

Oh, blue and black are my favourite colours. I like my silver one, but too many people have silver cars nowadays. Black Mk3 Cupras are as rare as green dogs. And we all have different tastes, but Ovni yellow with black allows? No, no, no.

oh right so its had a couple of owners since i first saw it then, again another warning sign...

I know it was originally owned by a dude who used to be mk4_polo or something, then an asian fella (maybe called tin or something) - he was the one that owned it when i went to see it maybe 18 months ago. Its obviously had a few owners since then...

I appreciate your info Jeff, £6250 is too much anyway so im going to save my cash for another one. The only way i'd pay £6250 for a 52 plate Ibiza is if its completely standard, has really low mileage and looks like its been looked after by a nun who scared of driving fast! :D
