i know people on this site have altered their lights somewhat, ie changing angel eyes into HID version, but has anybody considered creating some sort of audi R8 style lights..where the side lights are several lights spanning the whole of light?

This is the latest chav fashion craze. The Aston V8 did it first I believe, and you can easily find headlights for all the popular chav wagons with a row of LED lights in.

These, Angel Eyes and Lexus Lights are all you need to be a fully signed up member of the Burberry Brigade!

To be honest Rob that's the worst post I ever seen you write. Simply silly tbh...i dont see you posting same comments on Unclefesters light conversion?

nothing wrong with changing the lights on a car it makes it different from the tons of boring standard pap they fit them with

also, just because the chavs are doing it to their saxos and corsas doesnt mean that its chavvy to do it to a decent car. the reason why i hate chavs is because they spend $ making their crappy 1litre cars look fast when actually they are balls!

If you have a car that goes well whats the harm in doing a few small modifications that make it a little more unique and aesthetically pleasing? say you had something like a murcielago, would it be chavvy to put led lights on it? i think not.

i emphasise SMALL modifications. if you put one of those awful huge aluminium touring car style spoliers on your otherwise sleek black lcr you are gonna look like a chav tit.

i often agree with rob on the majority of posts, but with this it was just a suggestion because i hadnt seen it before..i dont think its chavy because yes iv seen saxos/106s with blue sidelights and neons etc etc..but none that are actual modifications of the front lights, ie not just a basic swap

If it's done well and as a 'custom' fitment it would look good, the whole problem with the 'chav' thing is everyone doing it to every model of car in the range so they all end up looking the same.

Like doing the Angeleyes but going the extra mile to retro fit them with HID - that said I still love the look of black angeleyes on the Leon as they suit the front end styling.

As with all mods, if the change is subtle and looks 'OEM' then it should work :)

I have said on more than one occasion, including to the Fester himself, that I think angel eyes are chavvy, but I think his light conversion is very smart, so long as the angel eyes stay off! The conversion itself, the quality of work (from what you can tell via pics) and the way he has done it is fantastic... but it will be ruined if the angel eyes are turned on. You make out that I'm afraid to say things like this to people who have done it, when it's quite the opposite. If somebody posts something asking for opinions, I'm more than happy to contribute. And as most people know, I might be quick to say when I don't like something, but I'm quicker to say when I do like something! ;)

As for these not being chavvy.... Lexus lights weren't considered chavvy until every Barry Boy fitted them to his Mum's shopping trolly. And they definitely weren't chavvy when fitted to a Lexus! But even Lexus don't use them anymore... what does that tell you!

These lights are going the same way.... they have been around long enough on the aftermarket to be seen on numerous shitty Euro trollys.

lol Rob, guess no point in getting you a set of front and rear ones for christmas?

I would much rather people were honest and i'd be worried if we all agreed about everything, if that happened there'd be no point in doing any modifying as we'd all be driving the same looking car and i'm sure Rob would agree, that would be much worse than a few minor differences in taste :)

ps - Rob .. i'm going to black out the chrome stuff in the headlights next time i take them to bits ( bloody fogging lol) and make them look a bit less 'bling' as i don't like it either ;)

I'm keeping the angel eyes though, i still like the look :p

Exactly! I hate people on forums who just say 'yes' or 'very nice' to everything, it's supposed to be a discussion forum yet people only seem to want to discuss things that they agree with

I like the look of your lights and think that making them black will look even better still... but I'm happy to disagree on the angel eyes part ;)

And as for my Christmas present.... I'll just take the cash instead thanks :cartman:

Sooo......

So from reading all the posts in this thread, does that mean there are NO r8 style lights for a 2001 model lcr? Gutted if so as i think they look really smart and not chavvy (unless over done)
