Hi guys, very new to the forum but I have already found a wealth of useable information!

I have just brought an Ibiza GTi Cupra Sport (1997), It does have the standard central locking, alarm and immobiliser. However I am just wondering if I should have remote central locking or not?

Also the car did not come with an owners manual so any information of where I could get one from?

Lastly the display is showin IN02, from what I have read this means the car is due / over due a majour service, so can anyone suggest and good garages in and around Swindon to carry out this work?

i would have said it was remote locking - first you need a remote key - or just a remote really even a used one is ok if its the right type or borrow a mates to test it is what i did

once you have a key new/used/borrowed it will need programming see here

dont panic if you borrow one they can be programmed to and from cars easy enough

service indicator system info for after the service is done

i have a haynes manual here and a full book pack if you need any info from it at all - but i only have one of each model now sorry so they are for keeps

That would be great if I could borrow the book pack and make a scan copy for future referance!

Ive just taken the glove box out (another piece of information found on here) and discovered that I do have the Siemans remote locking unit, is there a perticular type of key I need or will any one do?

There were 2 types of central locking, Infra Red and Radio.

If its InfraRed you will have two Recievers in the corners of your rear view mirror and to be honest of it is IR i wouldnt bother with it, its really annoying. ie sunny day, it doesnt work.

Nope, its definately the Radio style. Just been into the local dealers and they want 89.90 + VAT + Coding for one!
