Knocking noise from front end 130 sport help!

Hi,

I bought my 52 plate 130 sport last week and drove it 2 hours home, everything was fine (exept for the cup holder breaking!!) later that night i was parking in a car park and noticed a knocking noise coming from the front end, the dealer did change the offside wishbone bush before i picked it up, dont know if this has anything to do with the noise.
ive since been drivin the car every day and only notice the noise occasionally when im manoeuvring slowly.

My old 52 plate TDI Sport had a knock that came up at every bump - the anti roll bar had snapped. Its that common a thing, Skoda do a kit with bushes for about £40.

is there a clear way that i could definitely tell if the anti roll bar has snapped, the car did go through an MOT before i picked it up so surely they would have noticed something like that

The only easy way to work it out is to look at it on a ramp, that way you can tweak things and see where the noises are coming from.

Sounds like a bush/top mount/anti roll bar problem to me.

Id take it back, get them to have a lookie and change whatever needs changing matey.

This sounds familiar, mines been back 14 or 15 times for the same sort of thing and still no result, back in on thursday. I'm just waiting for them to take my "rejection of the vehicle" letter seriously so I can have my pennies back

within the first few mins of driving my 130sport i can hear a knocking or screeching sound from the suspension on the front i think. goes away after that so cant be much? get the occasional ping/knock when reversing on full lock but what could that me?

Is it a steering/suspension noise or a dash noise?

From experience (and from working at a VAG parts company), the anti roll bar can snap (said that last year), anti roll bar links are prone to knocking as well. Also, the wishbone bushes are prone to go over time, replace these with Cupra bushes as these are solid and don't fail.

Other than that, if its a clicking on lock, I'd be looking at your CV joints and ball joints can knock if they're really knackered.

lol sometimes when on full lock i get a knock from the front but not all the time so not really too worried about that.

Its been occasionaly knocking from i think the front, seems to be worse in the wet weather, tad odd?

It did it last year but dissappeared so it may do the same! I only had it back from accident damage where they did tracking and replaced entire rear axel so i wudda thought they would have said something if there were issues? They ususly have no problem pointing out work as they do it all for me! lol
