I have just noticed i cant see the intercooler brackets, nice one.

No point in driving it in the rain as it wont grip very well. lol

it was more of a misfire rather than an airleak, maybe just a coil gone (revs ok tho!?)

right....hasnt been the greatest of afternoons, there again, not the worst either

fitted passenger side driveshaft and all was good! tryed to put driver side in and it was hitting the oil return line:headhurt:
so i had to remove the DP to gain access to remove the oil line and im getting it modded tomorrow so it should sit alot nicer (wasnt really happy where it was anyway)

in its current state it has the driveshafts in and most things ready
just needs the oil line re-fitting and the DP bolting back on

ive also got the bumper fitting nicely (lil bit of cutting)

so im hoping to have it drivable this week.....one problem tho!!
my seats are sold and are being collected tomorrow nite :doh:lol which means once its ready to drive i cant as i wont have any seats :shrug:

im pretty happy with the progress this weekend and very happy to of heard it running(didnt have an engine in 8days ago)

I've got 4mm between my driveshaft and the oil line. :scary: I couldn't see how to alter it unless I got a new bend made up. I'd be really interested to see how you've done it.

mine sits tolaly different to yours mate

at the mo its a braided length end to end with a 90degree bend on both ends
im just having it cut down and re-crimped with one end as a stright connector rather than an elbow

see previous pics with engine on bench

if yours is 18mm steel (standard VAG oil pipe) i have the proper pipe bender for it!

my k04 used to sit really close

No, my standard Vag one is a 90 degree stainless steel elbow on the turbo, 90 degee steel elbow on the sump with a fat flexi braided line in between. Nothing to bend

But, hey yes - I see the difference, your turbo sits way higher than mine.

Nice progress, my next mod was going to be adjust the FMIC position but I've got a little more important things to do before worrying about that, like fitting a new engine :censored:
Noooooooooo!, whats happened dude. Not the rods or valves i hope. :(

Wild Willy - Yep, looks like an exhaust valve on cylinder 3 has dropped, yet to inspect just bought a Golf largeport AGU engine which I'll build up with rods, pistons, valves. Will more than likely end up with a large intake manifold and a new turbo too, as the chances are the valve will have proceeded out the engine and straight into the turbo.

Hooch - It's a right bitch isnt it, it does get slightly better and you do get used to it.

What map is it running or what are you goin to run?

I still think that turbo is way to close to the bulk head and is gonna hit under full load.

You running an oil cooler on it? I've got a mocal sandwich plate, stainless braiding and fixings just deciding on what row oil cooler to go for, was thinking 16 row. Did you keep the OEM water jacked aswell as the sandwich plate??

Also got an Mocal catch tank to rig up to a baffled sump but think I'll worry about getting the fooker running first lol!!
