No. That would be a waste of money to go back to my old wheels? plus they looked awful! I think i read before that the leons handling wasnt very good at higher speeds? (is this right?) so im thinking maybe its just how the car is? Im planning to have it lowered on coilovers in a few months so this should

You dont get what i mean .......
You changed something on the car and it's "not right now" - so the easiest and usually quickest test to do is put it back to the way it was and see if that fixes it, if it does the issue is with the new bits
Stick your old wheels back on and go for a drive, if everything is OK then it points to the new wheels/tyres and you need to get that looked at.
If it's still not right with the old wheels on then it's probly not the wheels thats causing it - tracking, susspension, steering & bearings all need inspected then to find it.
Although in saying all that, what sizes were the old wheels/tyres & what about the new ones (need a bit more info that 16" and now 18"!!!!)
