Cheers all - sounds the brakes are a good option and won't need to uprate again hopefully! Also I want to paint the calipers as well so that will be easier! I would be interested in spacers yeah! Think I might get strut brace first for handling wise! Got a 2 and half hour drive to get my new car tomorrow can't wait for the drive back though lol!

 He'll be driving it like he did mine....everytime the turbo kicks in he squeals with excitement! ;)

I was doing a constant 70mph today and getting a pretty much constant 70mpg. So if it's 200 miles, you should use just under 3 gallons. :)

Hi all,

My conversion to diesel is complete! :funk:

I drove my car to Surrey yesterday which is 126 miles doing an average 70mph overall and used half a tank of petrol and an average 33.5 mpg!

On the return trip of 126 miles I averaged again 70mph I didn't even use a quarter of a tank and averrage 47.9 mpg.

One thing - I love it when the turbo kicks on and having six gears is awesome. Overtaking is so easy and you reach 100 mph in no time on the motorway. I am really pleased with - will post some more info in a bit of a rush here on some pics!

Does it have yellow around the speedo dials or is it just the light on the camera? Apart from that....looks....yellow. :)

Would be nice if you could get the engine bay a bit cleaner too....

Will be nice pimped. :)

Intensive wiring lesson for Mattcogg1981!

Right, under the engine bay you have two grommets.

P7150419.jpg

and take the rubber off the scuttle panel and just gently lift the scuttle, slid your hand in to get to the other grommet

P7150421.jpg

here is the grommet

P7150422.jpg

inside the glove box, take out the two screws you can see here

P7150423.jpg

and the two at the top of the glove box

P7150424.jpg

and

P7150425.jpg

(the one above the airbag switch) then iirc, the top half of the glove box should pull out. then feed the wire which you put through the grommets down and out the bottom of your glove box

tuck it under the bit of trim that leads from under your glove box (picture rotated 90 degrees anti clockwise so up is the way my fingers are pointing)

P7150426.jpg

tuck it under the sill panel (no need to take it off)

P7150427.jpg

lift the bottom of the back seat up and you will see something like this, remove the plastic peg and tuck the wires under the trim, put the plastic peg back in after.

P7150429.jpg

fold the back of the seat down and you will find a way to feed it through the carpet so it brings it out in the boot

P7150431.jpg

and this picture is taken as if you are stood looking into the boot. pull back the carpet trim on the left, you will see holes. i put a nut and bolt through and attached the earth here. works fine. job done!
