Just to be pedantic...
Whether your clutch slips has nothing to do with the peak power, it's whether you exceed the torque limit of the clutch. This usually occurs at lower RPM where power is a long way below it's peak.
I would have to say that the finish inside the vxr is better than the ibiza...the ibiza in my opinion has one of the worst interiors going..very dull and the 2 ibizas ive had ( 130 sport and cupra tdi) were very flimsy and had a few issues with bits coming off etc.
Up close the vxr is a nice piece of car and would have one over a petrol cupra any day..Ibiza is near the end of its life in current state while the corsa is fresh...i think it will be an entirley different story once the new Ibiza Cupra comes out...only then would it be far to make comparisons !
I also love VAG cars so please dont slag me off for liking the vxr.

I'd like to see a standard vxr corsa run a 14.7 1/4 time
i think that would be pretty easy for a vxr to do with the right driver.
The Corsa is a gorgeous looking car (VXR) and having driven one, id say it would probably wipe the floor with an FR assuming it has no chassis mods.
I drove one and then drove an Astra VXR straight after, and id say they are evenly matched in the handling, the Astra just has more shove in the back.
Id swap my mapped ibiza for one anyday

lets just end this argument, the corsa vxr is better than any ibiza on the market, it is faster, handles better, interior is better albeit slightly tacky in places but the overall finish is nice. the exterior looks divide opinion. I personally like it from the back but the front is horrible. The exterior of my cupra looks way better and is lovely from all angles. I wouldn't have a vxr solely because I would feel like a wally driving it as its a bit ott and is trying too hard. and also think its aimed for a younger age group than me(im 28) I just think the ibiza cupra is a more grown up hot hatch and never feel like its a boy racers car. I always feel like its the leon cupra Rs little brother which is nice
if I had to go vauxhall, the only one for me is a vx220 turbo, imagine that with 300hp!

I would have to agree that the new corsa is a better car than the current ibiza. But then thats how it should be seeing as the corsa is new and the ibiza is really old now. Although I saved 4 grand on getting a similirily performing ibiza over the vauxhall, so im more than chuffed. The corsa isnt 4 grands better than the ibiza
The real test will be the NEW Ibiza Cupra against the Corsa VXR as they will be from the same generation.Afterall, ho old is the current Ibiza's chassis and engine???

No you cant say SEAT is all that, however you can say VAG is and to be fair everywhere I look in mine all I see is VW and Audi bits

I drove a Astra VXR when they first came out, my thoughts are as follows:-
The only things I liked were the steering wheel and seat, I could hear a rubbing noise whilst I was driving so I pushed the head lining and it moved about like a piece of cardboard.
If thats acceptable build quality then VAG have no worries.
The body styling is not all that either, when I got out at the end of the test drive I felt all Chavy
my mate has a corsa vxr in red, i quite like it, isnt the best of looking cars from the front.
have been trying to get him to race me (in my mk4 cupra) but he is a big girl and wont!!! i reckon he will beat me off the line, but i brough the evo magazine that had the vxr, cupra, cooper s, and clio 197 in it, and they said in that that the cupra is quicker in a straight line.
so (in my opinion) i reckon the vxr wud beat the fr off the line, but i reckon the fr will cathc the corsa up.
am going down to USC at santa pod in august with my mate with the corsa vxr and gonna give him a go down the strip, see who wins! should be interesting
