i cant describe it any better then title?? when ever the car becoms stationary and the reves drop to idol, they then keep droping and then the engin just stops, but without any juddering or noise? half the time i dont even know its happened?

Put a brand new tank of tesco 99 in the other day (first time car has ever had that cause i just could not get to shell)

I have a 1.8 20VT, with pannel filter.

normally i can feel the engin at idol cause of my upgraded dog-bone mount, but its just so still not vibration or any thing, i dont seem to fight against switching off? (as if u would when u switch it off at key)

could it be the air folw sensor? i am really stummped, but ive noticed its worse on really hot days???

Check that your radiator fans work as they should. My car stopped when stationary because the fans didnt come on. (Thats how I found out that the low speed setting on the fans didnt work, which eventually lead to replacement of both fans, relay switch and fuse)

They should always be on, when the aircon is on. (slow speed)

"The fans on an LCR (don't know about the other models, but think it's the same on Ibiza Cupra's) have 2 speeds - slow and fast. The slow speed is meant to run continuously when the a/c is on, to keep a slight draft over the radiators - in particular the a/c one. The higher speed is for when extra cooling is required. Those of you who's cars, like mine was, have the high speed fans cutting in every 20 seconds or so, it is likely that the relay switch has failed (or the fans have both lost their low speed setting).
Because the fans are now regularly starting and stopping on the high speed setting, this causes stress on the motors. This in turn can cause them to fail. I think I mentioned earlier in the thread that mine had sounded like an air raid siren for a while - one of the symptoms."

I think it's just the one fan at slow speed for when the air con is on as that's all that's required. But ensure the fans kick in at full speed when you've got the engine nice and hot.
