getting rid of my ibiza

i was up at arnold clark today and i can get a 56 plate 1.4 sxi+ for 7k with 7 miles on the clock so im gonna trade it in

weird thing is the foned 2 seat dealers in the ac group for a valuation and they only said 5500 for a 56 ibiza sport 16v with under 6000 miles on the clock.

the reason im trading it in is i think the build quality is crap rattles more than a 97 clio with 110k on the clock that i drive and it drinks way too much fuel for the engine size and i am a cautious driver.

told the salesman to look into the value as glass guide as for an 06 plate the value is 6200 and i dont think that will be based on a facelift model

only think that lets the ibiza down is interior plastics and lack of luxurey! only reason im wanting a change, but will only be swapping for one car and one car only!

i had a 52 plate corsa sxi and have to say that rattled aswell. Not going to get a good car for £6k with no rattles. your looking at like £15k+ for a decent built car that has no rattles. Must say tho, the plastics in the corsa was of a better quality but fuel consumption was also rubbish in the corsa. i have have a 07 plate ibiza fr 1.9 tdi and i love it. hell of a lot better than the corsa in all aspects. Everyone has their own opinion tho

rattles common peeps think what you get for your money and your annoyed about a poxy rattle most rattles can be iliminated if your really bugged by it find out where its coming from then foam/sponge will sort it out

so your going for a corsa?

i agree. i sorted all mine out on the corsa and ibiza. am happy with it now

Is the 56 plate corsa a new shape one? Most 1.4 sxi's new shape corsa round my way would cost about 11-12k

it will be the older shape Corsa-c. they have dropped in price now since the new corsa came out. i part ex'd mine and only got 2.5k for it... could have got more private sale but couldnt be bothered and only had 2 weeks to find car and needed the money for my ibiza

If MPG is an issue, you could do a lot worse than get a TDi.

I swear the corsa C build quality and design doesnt comes anywhere near that of the ibiza. The corsa C is really flimsy.

The ibiza does eat the fuel a little though, but I would say its easily a superior car.

Your choice mate but personally i hate corsa interior's and i wouldn't buy a car that already has a new model out, your choice mate but ibiza looks 1000 times better than old corsa.

my missus has a 1.2 sxi 06 plate year old, looks nice enough but would never ever trade in an ibiza for one

i have a buyer for the alloys already, i had a corsa a few years ago and i regret getting rid of it

and i agree the ibiza is a nicer looking car but the value of the car has halved in 8 months, hate to see what its like later on.

whereas my mum got 4k for a 05 plate corsa 1.2 life

after you get your corsa, your next stop will be Halfords, then macdonalds i reckon!
