Before everyone takes the p*ss, i know this does nothing for power on a TDi, purely for the noise - not to everyones taste i know but just thinking about it.

I've seen a few on ebay, but dont know much about them tbh so some advice would be usefull. Here are links for 2 i seen on ebay:

There were a few others but they are almost £300 and dont want one that much.

Any helpfull advice would be great

what complete solution? Its a TDi you don't need it, so don't waste your money.

I urge you to reconsider. I was up southend last saturday and a guy in a Fabia VRS kept driving past with his tdi dump valve, and all you heard every time from people att eh side of the road was " w**ker! its a Diesel for F**ks sake.

Keep the money and spend elsewhere

Is it 'cos u wantz da boostz init'? :p

Seriously mate it sounds so strange on a TDI, complete indifference to the car and the engine. Sounds chavvy and not how a TDI should sound.

Sorry bud but would be a waste imo that could go to better use i.e. remap/hids/filter etc.

As m0rk pointed out I think the forge is the best solution (but I imagine expensive!)

Thanks for your comments, had a look at the forge valve, but at £245 its way too expensive for what i'd get from it.

I think i'd really need to hear one on a diesel first before buying one, as you could be right about not sounding right on a diesel. As i said i'm only considering it at the moment and i'm still undecided.

But if the ones on ebay look like there no good then i might give it a miss as not looking to spend big bucks,

cheers

The TDi at the side of you that didnt waste (imho) £300 on a dump valve and put it towards more power... maybe!? :D

Sorry couldnt help it, they are sooo a waste of money.. imho!

Mmmm i suppose, but i think they were calling him ****** cos he'd put a dump valve on a diesel which is just to get the sound, so it like fitting an electric dump valve.

okay, okay! you's are kinda putting me off the idea of a dump valve now. Might spend my money on something else, been toying with the idea of getting a remap anyway so might just keep saving. Got a price of £300 from Angel Tuning but not heard too much about them so i'm undecided. Anyone know anyone who has used them before?

cheers

a standard dump valve doesnt work. you need an electronic one like FORGE sell. It isnt a speaker.....it is a dump valve...but not one like on a petrol. The diesel engines dont have a dump valve on factory fitted whereas the petrol turbos have BOSCH (is this right?) dump valves fitted from factory? It doesnt need one cos is a constant turbo...

Job done! £300 on a dump valve with nothing other than a silly noise, or £300 on performance greatness!
