Went to stealer to look at my new FR but couldnt see where the ipod connection is, can someone please enlighten me?

As is typical for this dealership one of the idiots I have been dealing with has no idea where it is supposed to be. The main guy I have been dealing with wasnt in, so I didnt get this resolved, I :censored: hope it hasnt been left off my order.

If someone could be so kind as to take a close-up pic of theirs and upload it to this thread I would greatly appreciate it.

Cheers,

Seton

I don't have the Seat iPod connector, but I hear its under the passenger seat.. The manual has this info in I believe.

Just fitted mine in the glovebox, which is a bit easier to access.

on uk models it's under driver's seat - and you should DEFINITELY get a bag of adapters for various sized ipods (as mentioned by simmytt). I think mine came with 3 in a little bag (in the under seat compartment) and some little plastic wedges just in case they're needed too. Make sure you have them.

Ipod goes in facing upwards btw :) Decide which adapter you need (if any), push that in first - you might have to get down on your hands and knees and stick your head in the footwell to see what you're doing, but the connector is located on the right hand side (offside) of the seat. Once you've got the adapter in place (slides in easily) just put in your ipod. It might be a very teeny bit tight, but that's ok. Means it won't fall out.

HTH

One sec I'll go get a photo of it... stopped raining :)

Bits you should get (I was wrong, I got three adapters, one of which is just a little shim type thing that presumably sits under one of the larger ones - mine's a nano. The things wrapped in paper are extra plastic wedges - not sure when you'd need them. I haven't - one to right of ipod is an unwrapped one.

Mine is UK and is fitted infront of the gear stick hidden by the drinks holder. Far easier to toggle than under the seat

Great thanks a lot Jono and the rest of you guys, I would never have though to look under the drivers seat.

For some reason I thought it would be just like on aftermarket players, where there is a tiny hole on the radio to plug 1 end of a lead into and the other into your ipod.

I get it now, so you dont have to have the ipod in sight, it just hides away. I guess I better read the instructions then, oh damn :):blink:

I will take a pic of mine, I am pretty sure you need the big flat bit at the top, and then you push a wedge in place to stop it bouncing up and down, and damaging your connection. I may be totally wrong, but mine is now nicely wedged, but easily removable.

Back soon.

^^ Mine is under the drivers seat..

So's mine. I have something else under the driver's seat, like properly under it. I'm not sure what it is, any idea? (electronics for airbags maybe?)
I guess it can be under either driver or passenger's seat.

Oh mine doesn't flap around without any of the extra stuff either.

Ok, On mine with the normal ipod the pic is as below.

I dont have a fitting like the nano one above which is a pain, as the gf has a Nano, back to the dealers.

I have a 30Gb Video, which with the adaptors as pictured does not move up or down at all. You can see the top plate fitted, and the wedge at the bottom.

Guess I am wrong, but at least i know now that i need a trip to get the Nano adaptor!
