Hi all, first post on the site - so be kind!!

First the good news. After months of deliberation and bouncing from Honda to Skoda to VW to SEAT, I've ordered a Candy White FR TDI, with 18's, USB, Bluetooth, Sunroof, Convenience and Winter packs. Well happy with the final decision - saw a picture of a white one and that made up my mind. Got a great deal too - am leasing (opted out of company car scheme, couldn't stomach another Vectra), and have paid £16700 with the listed toys! I thought if I factory order colour I might as well have some gadgets too.

Now the bad news, when I was just about to order a fews weeks ago I was told it would be build week 20 and probably delivered towards end of June, early July. Fair enough I thought, I can live with that. Now I've just found out build week is to be confirmed and delivery might not be until 3rd Sept. Is this possible or is someone pulling my chain. Apparently the factory shuts down in July so everything get knocked back.

Has anyone else had similar experience - how long do I need to put up with my current heap?!?

Seems to be one extreme or the other if youre flexible on the spec there will probably be something in stock otherwise factory order, though vw dealers can ammend an existing order in their system up to a certain time so you may be able to change a car they have ordered for stock and know the build week for since the dealer you have visited says the order is to be confirmed they do not know when it will be built as the system has not allocated a build week my advice is obviously buy what you like but try to be flexible if you want the car sooner..

Somebody did actually say to me that if the car was ready at any point after the second week of August they'd hold it back until new reg. Might be a bit of a silver lining I suppose.

As european factories close july-august.
I work for a french/ german/ norwegan/ italian company and our european brances all close for that period.
