Turbo's & Superchargers

lol i think that might be overkill somewhat

Not sure that would work, as in the charger is too big for the 2.0 and would force/flow too much air, more than what the 2.0 head could cope with

remember if you did go for that charger, 300bhp+ is alot for the standard head to cope with, so it would certianly have to be strengthened and definitely flowed or ported

either way its BIG ££££££££

1. For the m45 i'm gna get toothed pulleys from pitstop developments, and the other pulley i'll have made up, this guy knows where to get this **** from etc

2. Yet again, the guy is gna help me make one,

3. Audi s3 or BMW tdi intercooler, the inlet and outlet of the intercooler are on the top, which makes a much better fit

4. My mate ian has just done a custom cossy job so i'll get hime to do it

5. I'm searching round atm, i'm gna ask the guy with the supercharged abf where he got his from

the most expensive bits will be the toothed pulleys and the Megasquirt. The head gasket can be made for cheap and the intercoolers from a scrappy. The pipework will be cheap

i found out that my engine is only a 1.8, so i can use an m45, going from 130bhp to 190bhp wouldnt be so bad, i'm only 19 still. i'm gna talk to fernando at ace cafe and see if the m45 would be up for the job, and if it's not then i can sell it on ebay and look for an m62. The good thing with the m45 is that most of the tuning parts are readily available, like the toothed pullies, they create more boost as the charger spins more per revo of the cam pulley, more boost = more power :D

3 hours to go and it's looking good (touch wood)

you didnt know your engine was a 1.8!!! fecking PMSL!

sorry mate, just found that funny

Ah well then, as yours is a 1.8, then I would agree the M45 in this case is not better suited - 200BHP is easily achiveable, and now you will soon "av boost" then its a money pit!!

I think your shopping list will need the following:

FMIC (Laguna as you already mentioned, but try looking up THS intercoolers on ebay, I think they will be better, easier to fit and a thicker core as wel)
Larger DP
Race Cat
S/S Exhaust

are you getting the pipe work for your SC fabricated? thats where it gets expensive

yup having a race cat fitted this thursday, and the middle box taken out, all gna be stainless, i was thinking Audi S3 intercooler or BMW tdi FMIC. All i'll need then is charger brackets (custom) a double thickness head gasket (custom) and a Megasquirt system (cheap). If i win the charger the rest will be easily achievable, cos the parts are easier to get.

I was told by a couple of guys on here that mine was a 2.0l, but i didnt know **** about the engine type, i've been corrected now lol and have made the changes to my plans :D

yes the pipe work for the charger shouldnt be too bad, cos my mate has just done a custom cosworth conversion and got all the samco hosing at trade price, the only tricky bit will be the charger outlet as it ovular and the piping is circular lol, but he can weld well to, so that shouldnt be too much of a problem.

it's not what you know (that helps) it's who u know aswell (helps more)

i want to have it done before edition38 (september) shouldnt be a bad deadline as i'm off for the summer and will be working most of it now to fund this project :D

sounds excellent mate, thats quite a task to get it done for E38, as I am going to E38 as well, cant wait because last years show was excellent!

Are you having the brackets made up as well to mount the SC? and where or what are you mounting it too?
